The conclusion is false, IMO.

Humanity is flawed, sure, but the industrialized world is getting more polarized for a lot of reasons, some of which we can’t get into here, but boil down to “the people who benefit from systems are subject to unprecedented levels of scrutiny and exposure to the dissatisfaction of those who they benefit at the expense of.”

As far as social media, the issue isn’t that humans are driving themselves toward oblivion, it’s that humanity is being callously manipulated by a very small oligarchy in order to maximize stratification. The way the program puts stuff in front of you that makes you angry isn’t there to keep you angry or divide us or any of that “They are doing XYZ bc new world order” stuff you’ll see people claim, it’s literally just about keeping your eyeballs on your screen, and your fingers typing in the comments. Thats the whole conspiracy. It’s just money.

There was already a way to make stock video, it's called "record some video". No reason to also hand some overfunded police commissioner the ability to frame any black person he likes of whatever crime he feels like or produce porn of random women on Facebook.
