Searching Dusky and the Eel and taking away their weapons, you find (including what Kenn took off the Eel earlier): A rapier, a dagger, a wand, a chain shirt, a studded leather armor, a potion, 25 gold pieces, and thieves' tools. Kathan also notices a hidden purse on the Eel's belt. Opening it, he finds25 pp, six small steel vials, and a letter.

When he gets the chance, Kathan goes below deck to read the letter. Wouldn't want a freak gust of wind to catch it and blow it overboard, so best to take shelter against the elements first.

The letter appears to be a kind of contract, a guaranty from a Kilion Kresner that he will be paid if the flumphs are successfully relocated.

The ship soon reaches a dock where it can receive the needed repairs, which aren't many, but necessary enough (especially the anchor). The captain says that Khuther's quick reaction may well have saved the ship, and awards the group 250 gold pieces, and tells them of a nearby potion shop, as he assumes that you don't want to drag both the Eel and Kenn all the way back up to the watch station. The flumphs kind of hover around you all, seemingly not sure what to do.

Wearied from their ordeal and resulting loss of blood, Kathan addresses the flumphs.

" Your friend, Ulmapoap, is nearby. If you'll accompany us just a little further, we'll show you where he is hiding, " he says.

Turning to Khuther, he says, " Captain Dusky is bein' right about one thing; there is no way we're going to get these two back to the watch station in the condition we're in. "

Kathan puts his hand over his mouth for a moment as he coughs up a little blood, which he wipes on his cloak. " But I think it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper to just hire a few strong lads to be bearin' the burden for us, rather than carry them up by ourselves. "

With that, he looks for a few sturdy guys that can be trusted to help them out for a couple crowns or sovereigns.

Once Kathan has aquired some help, he takes the lead, first heading back towards the Crab, and then up to the watch post. Just before they reach the post, he dismisses the hired hands, paying them their fee. Drawing his cloak tightly around him, Kathan melts away, and a familiar blue-whiskered man takes his place. With that done, they can carry or drag Kenn and the Eel the rest of the way.

( 16 on Sense Motive for anyone I'm looking to hire. Can't be too careful down here at the docks. )

Kenn's nose twitches.

Inside his head, a magical warm yellow light is explaining the secrets of the universe to him.

So that's what the Draconic Prophecies mean?
Yes.
This kind of knowledge could change the whole world!
Yes. But you won't remember it when you wake up.

Kenn hangs disembodied for a moment.
Nuts...

Khuther recieves the gold in the name of the group 'im the best bank around, we gonna split this when we are done with our work here' He a note of the location of the potion shop and follows the boys

Choosing to ignore Captain Pepper's advice, Kathan and Kuther look for a few hirelings, but they get few honest readings of the people (in fact, Kathan suspects that nine out of ten would rather sell out the Eel immediately if they found out that he is part of the luggage). However, they do find three people that don't seem too treachery-prone, who would do the task for ten gold pieces, total.
Before going to an elevator, they happily reunite the displaced flumph family. In the elevator finally, they are awaited by a rather nondescript man. "We may have something to discuss," he greets the group.

Kathan, ever distrustful, attempts to sense what it is the man wants. Using his most diplomatic voice he asks the stranger, " Then maybe you should be tellin' us what we might be discussing, on the way up. "
