I've always thought that the best D&D rings were Ring of Feather Falling, Ring of the Ram, and Ring of Shooting Stars. It's a bummer that the RoSS didn't win, but I can't get upset at RoFF getting the victory.

I've always thought that the best D&D rings were Ring of Feather Falling, Ring of the Ram, and Ring of Shooting Stars. It's a bummer that the RoSS didn't win, but I can't get upset at RoFF getting the victory.

In 1e and 2e where hit points were very low and a short fall could kill, I liked a Ring of Feather Falling. Since 3e came out in 2000, falls have become a mere nuisance in the rare times that they happen.
Rings of Feather falling are just gold at the next city now. I like Ring of the Ram and Ring of Shooting Stars a lot, but Rings of Elemental Command are my favorite.
