As soon as the bear appeared, Ilvellios ran forward, using his amazing speed to strike at the enemy priest and stand side by side with the druid.

Anticipating attacks from the Reavers, he weaved from side to side in a pattern that he hoped would prove unpredictable..

Round 1

Nariah breaks cover and unleashes her fey powers on the rear guard, killing him before he is even aware they are under attack.

"They're behind us!" the would be ambushers shout, turning around just in time to see a huge bear appear, seemingly from the corpse of their former companion. Duran charges into the midst, snapping wildly at the priest his heavy paw glancing off an unseen force protecting the enemy leader.

The Priests features suddenly blur as his guard set to attacking the bear.

The two bandits to the north shoot arrows at Ilvillious to no effect, while the two southern bandits shoot arrows at Errol with no effect.

GM:
Realised two mistakes on my map; 1st there are two sets of bad guys labeled R, the two at the top are bandits (now labelled T1 and T2) the three in the middle are reavers (still labelled R1, R2, R3). 2nd I forgot to mention that the squaes are 10 ft, the map was just getting too big otherwise.

I'll allow Duran to start at I12 so he can still get into combat, and I'll edit this post if Illvilious wants to change his action, since there is nothing to hit with a staff.

Initiative: Initiative
Group A:
Illvilious, Nariah, Duran
Group B:
Priest, Bandits, Reavers
Group C:
Errol, J.V.

[SBLOCK=Rolls and notes]
Reaver attack and damage rolls on Duran: 1D20+4 = [11]+4 = 15
1D8+1D6+2 = [7]+[2]+2 = 11
1D20+4 = [11]+4 = 15
1D8+1D6+2 = [7]+[1]+2 = 10
1D20+4 = [1]+4 = 5
1D8+1D6+2 = [5]+[1]+2 = 8
two hits for 22 damage total
The Priest casts blur on himself then moves away - so AOO for Duran with disadvantage

T1 and T2 attack and damage on Illvilious: 1D20+3 = [6]+3 = 9
1D8+1 = [2]+1 = 3
1D20+3 = [1]+3 = 4
1D8+1 = [6]+1 = 7
Both Miss

L1 and L2 attack and damage on Errol: 1D20+3 = [4]+3 = 7
1D8+1 = [7]+1 = 8
1D20+3 = [8]+3 = 11
1D8+1 = [5]+1 = 6
Both miss

OOC:
Ah, ok!
In that case thanks, instead of taking the attack action, Ilvellios will Dash another 45' towards the priest, and instead of taking the Dodge bonus action, will use the same Ki point to take another Dash action!! I think that should still allow him to close with the priest. Up to you whether that is at his original position, where Ilvellios would get an opportunity attack, or at the new position, which is bit more realistic since they would both be moving continuously, not in turns! :)

Duran lashes out at the retreating priest ignoring the two hits that came his way.
OOC: If hit priests speed becomes 0.
AOO at disadvantage
[roll0]
[roll1]
Damage [rolll]2d6+4[/roll]
I'm assuming multi attack doesn't work for Aoo

In theory you go at the same time, but the "you go I go" nature of the initiative system makes some odd things happen - like this. I've placed him at G11, so he would get an AoO when the priest fled.

Day 7/Morning
Round 1

As the others engaged with the priest and those around, Errol dodged two arrows that came his way. Then he rose up and walked forward, sighting down his crossbow at the nearest bandit, letting the bolt fly.

“Can someone get that damn spell off the priest?” Errol yelled. “Keep it up, Durin!” he yelled to the bear, infusing the druid with extra vigor.

OOC: Durin gets 3 temporary hit points.
