now thats just rude! - hearing He-Man referred to as old pulp stuff is really funny, i'm not quite a grandpa yet!A lot of the old pulp stuff was very sci-fantasy, like He-Man.
Yeah pretty much blunderbuss pistols are as essential to ‘Pirate fantasy’ as parrots, eye patches and peg-legsi think i could play in a pirates of the caribbean world and have it feel like a sufficiently DnD game, but that has guns, cannons and grenades/bombs, but still manages to have it's fair share of swordplay and melee combat.
Thundarr, too!A lot of the old pulp stuff was very sci-fantasy, like He-Man.
Oh man, I remember the first time I saw The City of the Gods and I was like, wait, what?It has never bothered me. Old D&D was full of weird stuff. DA Temple of the Frog anyone? Dying Earth is in Appendix N. Tech and D&D go hand in hand.
Dave Arneson, co-creator of D&D, was really into sci-fantasy combos. His Blackmoor, the first D&D fantasy setting, was a post-apocalyptic setting devolved into a medieval one.Oh man, I remember the first time I saw The City of the Gods and I was like, wait, what?
