"The streets are safe as most cities, which is to say there is always the possibility of trouble even on the safest streets. I believe the gentleman value's the safety of his fiance and would prefer to be cautious."

As it turns out, Ambassador Mollari has retired for the evening, to the Ambassadors' Quarter in Red District, in the same general vicinity as Ambassador G'Kar's residence. The Ambassadors' Quarter being very near the Lords' Quarter, everyone finds themselves going in the same general direction.

Ambassador Mollari greets Veer with a bleery eyed impatience, "No, no, no. No more visitors. Go away! Oh...wait. You are my new aide? Ah, yes. Go away anyway. Come back in the morning." The ambassador is obviously drunk.

Ambassador G'Kar has also retired for the evening...with a pair of human women. G'Kar sits up in his bed as the two women lounge and regards Castagyr critically, "So, the Ka'Ri saw fit to choose my aide for me, did they? Well, don't expect a warm welcome. I have little patience for the politics of the home island at the moment."

Lord Clarion is waiting on his porch for Sakai with a bottle of wine, two glasses already poured. He stands as Sakai and her escorts approach, "Its good to..."

She interrupts him abruptly, "Tonight has been one fiasco after another." She gestures at Felix, Markus, Amisi, and Korgon, "Two mages, a barbarian, and city guard walked out of a bar...there is a punchline here somewhere but I'm too tired to think of it."

Lord Clarion smiles, "Its good to see you, too." He walks down the steps of his porch and approaches Felix and the others, "Thank you for making sure my fiancee made it here safely. How goes the security preparations for the Deva Ambassador's arrival?"

Castagyr stood there in his armor and looked on as G'Kar was in bed with two human women. His draconic expression neutral as the Ambassador declared his unhappiness at being assigned a new aide.

“My lord, I am not particular about politics myself either. Your younger brother sent me, so I am here.”

“It is hoped that I might be of service. I am passing fair with this blade of mine and it is at your command.”

"It may very well be that your brother has concern for you that he sends an honorable one such as this warrior to stand at your side. That is all I wish to convey, My Lord"

Markus notices the subtle sign of dislike, or more likely distrust, and he keeps his words polite, neutral, peaceful even. It never hurts to administer good will.

Felix answers the question deferentially, "We have planned carefully using the resources at our disposal as effectively as possible. We've also been following up on any rumors that are currently circulating that might impact the visit. I do understand the importance of the visit and the inherent danger."

Veer takes in Ambassador Mollari's drunken state with aplomb; after all, it's not a particularly unusual state of being in the court of the Thousand Lands.

"Oh, er, right, of course Ambassador, yes, right away," he stammers. But he doesn't leave the Ambassador's anteroom, instead staying where he is, looking slightly awkward."Um. Where do I go away to, exactly?" he asks.
