And you defenders should do more defending :p We're dyin' here! *lolz at Kruk's unharmed status*]

You can't be serious.

(Kruk takes his armor of so that he can take a few hits...Just kidding)

Next round I'll jump over the bar again so that I can help defend B, V, and C, from HC and G3 just like I did when I jumped over the bar the first time to help defend L who was at the time being flanked by G1 and G2.

Maybe you can come over and help out too since you have powers that grant stat bonuses to all of your party members when they are around you.

Feel free to critique me after this encounter if you feel the need. I'm interested in hearing your suggestions on what I should have done so that I can improve as a player.

[/sblock]

"The tide is turning in this battle!. Let's end it now!" Kruk yells at the top of his lungs and then unleashes a booming battle cry.

[sblock=OOC]
Thanks all for kudos for the big hit. :)

I'm first in line to praise everyone for their efforts in working together to get this difficult job done.

ooc: He's right that the monsters have been deliberately picking on the cloth and chain wearers, rather than the guys in full plate. Wouldn't you?

Round 3, continued

Cross, spurning the danger to himself, directs the flaming sphere closer and instructs it to attack the guard facing him. He pays a bloody price for his bravery, as the guard's flail strikes him brutally in the groin just as the ball of fire is attacking. Both attacks are devastating, leaving Cross and the guard reeling. (ooc: G3's OA is also a crit, Cross takes 14 damage, but G3 takes 17. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you probably don't want to waste your staff of defense power here. Cross and G3 are both bloodied.)

The more perceptive among you note that the wall next to where the flaming sphere had been was starting to scorch.

Round 4

Merenwen moves farther into the room, staying close to the wall, but again is unable to find his target, as both attacks go wide. (ooc: both misses)

Even as the poison fills her veins, Les howls and screams at the orcs, but inwardly remains calm, even calculating. She steadies herself with a deep breath and exhorts Vashik to get up, before moving south along the bar and striking a sharp blow to the guard there, filling her friends with determination. (ooc: Les takes 5 ongoing poison damage, and gains 6hp and +2 to all defenses 'tsnt. Vashik spends a surge and gains 10 hp, and is now conscious and prone. Les gain 3 HP for using an AP in sight of Larinza. Bulwark of Defense hits; G2 takes 22 damage and is bloodied. Everyone except Les gains +1 power bonus to defenses for the encounter, and 6 temp hp, which don't stack. Les shakes off the poison.)

Kilbeth, Raiyek, Balth, Larinza, and Vashik are next.

(ooc: note that Balth will take 1d4+5 fire damage at the start of his turn if he is still adjacent to the sphere.)

[sblock=Initiative and status]

Merenwen unharmed, +6 temp hp, +1 to defenses
Les 10/24, bloodied, marked by G2, +2 to defenses 'tsnt

ooc: Now that's leadership. Nice shot, Les. And thanks for the reminder about inspiring presence; I had forgotten. Balth may be due some extra HP from that; I'll have to go back and check, but I'm out of time now.

Balth's cloak catches fire as the giant orb of flame pushes obscene amounts of heat towards him. The left side of his face is blistered, as he throws the cloak to the ground and moves from the heat southwest.

[sblock=damage]Friendly "Fire" (cwutididthar? :) ) (1d4 5=8)[/sblock]

He shouts "You!" at Hoofchew, getting the Orc's attention. Balth shifts backwards as he draws his bowstring, a trick he had learned in a barfight, moving out of Hoofchew's reach and loosing the arrow at his face.

[sblock=Actions]
Move Action - Shift 1 southwest to W13.
Minor Action - Mark Hoofchew with Hunter's Quarry
Standard Action - Nimble Strike, shifting one before attack to W14.

Vs. Hoofchew's AC (1d20 7=17)

If it hits (which I doubt):
damage hunter's quarry damage (1d10 5=12, 1d6=4) [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]It has been a little difficult to control these stupid orcs, but part of that is probably our inability to form a plan ;) It's hard to stop monsters from attacking the squishies when it's easy to walk around the defenders, especially when the monsters are this much higher level than us. That -2 from marking probably only brings them down to level-appropriate attack bonuses, instead of being severe enough that attacking the marker is the most viable option. Though for Hoofchew, provoking Divine Challenge damage again would probably be unwise. After my attack (assuming it hit) he's taken 73 damage, and he has probably around 100 hp. That means 5 is 20% of his remaining hp :)

Also, if someone can find a way to get at least one of the guards into a position where I can be adjacent to the guard and Hoofchew at the same time, I'll use Piercing Smite next round and hopefully occupy his attention for a round.

Have to say, though, it looks like we've started to turn things around on them. All of the orcs except that sniper are bloodied, and Les landing Bastion of Defense should help quite a bit - good job! I think things should wrap up fairly quickly from here, as long as IC stays on our side ;)[/sblock]
Raiyek snarls at Hoofchew as he flees like a coward. "You're not getting away from ME that easily, you overgrown pig!" he yells at the shaman. The paladin comes running around the bar with speed that should be impossible with the heavy armor he is wearing. Without breaking stride he touches Les' calf as he passes, some of her more serious wounds binding together as he does. "Stand and fight me like a man, Hoofchew!" he yells as he rounds the final corner of the bar and launches a vicious overhand slice at the shaman.
[sblock=Actions]Move: Move around the bar to U8.
Minor: Lay on Hands on Les (I burn a surge and Les heals 6 hp).
Standard: Charge Hoofchew (end movement in V12): 1d20+7=21 vs. AC, 1d8+3=10 damage plus HQ damage: 1d6=4 for a total of 14 damage.[/sblock]
[sblock=Mini Stats]Raiyek Meliam - Male Elf Paladin 1

Yea the orcs are not cooperating, I just felt like poking fun at you :p It happens often to me in a game I play where I'm the pally. [but a much sexier raven queen warlock-paladin XD]

Also, guys, don't forget you get both bonuses from the presences. 3 hp from Larinza and +1 to hit from Les's tactical presence on action point attacks.

Have I really been on this site for over 20 years!
[sblock="ooc"]Yeah, it's nice being the Warlord, your the girl everyone wants to stand next to.[/sblock]

Larinza shouts at Cross "Cross, your looking a little rough, hang in there, this isn't that bad and hardly the worst we'll ever see. Get yourself back in the game."

Then she pushs forward and thursts her sword at the orc guard, then with a surge of energy attacks again.

"My sword called out for blood."
