Rowan is ready for action. He will, of course, tell the miller that they are there to help, and ask what bad think happened three nights ago.

Boog is ready.

 

[Patlin]

As you crest the rise of the hill leading to the mill, you see the river on which it relies sparkling in the afternoon sun. The wheel turns slowly as the water flows by. From a short distance away, an armored figure sees you crest the hill and spurs his mount in your diection.

As he aproaches, he calls out "And who might you be?"

The challenge is made in a good natured tone of voice.

At times, Boog could be painfully literal. This was one of those times.

"Boog, Juliana, and Rowan", the newmade called out. "We seek the two who were taken from the monastery yesterday, and hoped we might find something here that would speed our search."

 

[Patlin]

"Oh, I think I can bring your search to a quick conclusion. I am the hardiest knight of life, and you have reached both the end of your search and the end of your days." His cheerfull tone is unwavering as he recites this.

"Prepare to defend yourselves... and try to put up enough of a fight to be amusing, if you could."

OOC: Init: 9+2=11 What sort of weapons does the knight have?

IC: "The knight is not last, but first.." mumbles the barbarian. He has his glaive in hand already. If he has a chance, he'll step in front of Boog, protectively and ready an action to attack the knight if he comes w/in 10 feet.

Lance and Shield in hand, though he also has a longsword and morningstar on his person.

Boog shifted quickly into a defensive stance. "How odd that he would be so pleased at the prospect of slaughter", thought the telepath.[sblock=OoC: ]Initiative was 13+0=13. If on Boog's initiative the knight is within range (about 30 feet), Boog will manifest Suggestion (Psionic) (3 PP) and, if successful, suggest that the "hardiest knight of life" hand over all his armor, weapons, and other items so that the party may inspect, clean, and repair them, while informing them of his reason for being here and what he knows of the whereabouts of the captives. Should this attempt fail, Boog will take a 5' step back and defend himself with his staff.

If the knight remains outside the range of his powers (30 feet), on his initiative Boog will take a 5' step back behind Rowan and Juliana, and manifest Mindlink on both Rowan and Juliana (2 PP).[/sblock]
