Technical Information

OOC: Could we activate some speed ability or is speed an automatic progression?
GM: There is a necromantic option for reducing another's speed. This only works on people, not animals. It is called Lethargy, which reduces the targets Motility. If Motility is reduced to zero or below, the target cannot move.

Manipulate Way

There are two options for increasing a character's speed. The permanent method, though it takes longer time, is to increase the Motility ability and the Commercial skill; afterwhich, increase Flexibility and Athletic.

The temporary method of increasing speed is by augmenting the Motility ability, which is called Stimulation.

Stimulation: (increases Motility)
Affect / Range = Confluence + Will + Hemostasis + Discipline + Symbiosis + Resolve

Effectiveness = Essence + Confluence + Hemostasis + Symbiosis +
Mind + Knowledge + Will + Wisdom + Discipline + Acuity + Resolve +
Collegiate + Aberrative / Theologic +
(if on another) Manipulate Way / Sorcery + Necromancy / Angelic
(if on self) Manifest Will / Faith + Necromancy / Angelic

Augmentation = Motility + Affect
Time in tics = [Effectiveness + Luck(random roll)]Affect

Tics / 100 = seconds

Sheldon Engages the Conversation

Saemund says, "I wanted to know all of that, but also their purpose in roaming about in such a fashion, they were obviously some sort of raiding party."

Sheldon -
"As best I can figure from trying to converse with the Rheini we encountered, they said that they had had some trouble to the north. I think this is it. I also think this is related to the issue with the alleged haunted tree we are seeking. I'll bet a round of drinks that this particular clan of Evipau has moved into the area and are aggressively trying to dominate it and push others out so that whatever experiments are going on with that tree can be conducted away from prying eyes. Heck, they may be even collecting victims for experimentation."

Worthwhile or Worthless?

Searching the 10 bodies produces 1 grey rock, 3 talismans of Kite Feathers, 3 ingots of zinc, 1 white rock, 2 Talismans of White Magpie Feathers, 1 Talisman of Boar Tusks, 3 ingots of iron, 1 orange rock, 3 Talismans of Vulture Feathers, 2 green rocks, 3 Rodent Skulls, 1 Cyan Scarab Talisman, 1 burgundy rock, and 3 copper ingots.

Looking at the array of collected material, Sheldon asks,
"So what say you? This is quite a variety of materials. Any ideas?"

Sannit peers over the collection and says, "We should separate out the materials and minerals we know are useful and then examine the talismans one at a time to determine if they have any bonus besides decoration."

Jest for Fun

Saemund looks at Sannit....
I should really take an undamaged Hoghide Shendyt to apply over my silk one. What do you think?
Sannit grins and replies,
"I wouldn't want to wear something that these guys were wearing, but it's your butt."
Sheldon laughs,
"Don't let him harass you. It may be ugly, and it probably smells, but it will provide better protection than the silk one until we can get you something better."

Identifying the Gains

Sannit peers over the collection and says,
"We should separate out the materials and minerals we know are useful and then examine the talismans one at a time to determine if they have any bonus besides decoration."
As the spoils are collected, the necessary task of cleaning the area is done with the aide of Turtle and the pack animals. Since the injuries will take time to heal even when augmented and due to the potential of further threat in the area, the bodies are moved away and camp is made on the current site. The pack animals are then set to the northwest side of the camp to use their hearing like an alarm system should anything approach during the night. Turtle and Myth also assist in keeping watch at night, especially since they have no interest in the tedious tasks of analyzing trinkets.

The find is divided into minerals versus talismans, the augmentation of some already being known.

Saumund chuckles with Sannit and Sheldon...Better some Evipau armor than a new hole in my rear end.

GM: I have added the Hoghide Shendyt and its statistics to your character record.

Sannit claps Saemund on the shoulder, "Probably the wiser choice. After we catch another big critter out here whose hide is worth taking, you can start having your own custom gear made. It slows you down, but the tradeoff is worth it. I've gotten to where I start measuring the beasts with my eyes before they're even dead."

Bolo is fascinated with the talismans, turning them over in her hands and examining each one closely. She keeps the green stone to help with her archery.

Turtle decides to take a nap since the humans are doing that thing where they watch their stuff for long periods of time.

OOC: Do talismans and stones stack?
