In Aquerra, they are called "the Plutonic Realms" by those on the surface and "Abyssmia" by those who live there. The deepest tunnels that connect various islands are called "the Undersea".

[mod]Also: I don't think this needs to be in the House Rules forum, so I'm going to move it to General where I think it will get more attention.[/mod]

The Underworld could be used although it has other connotations.
Indeed, but then, that could be cool to play in a setting where the Underdark embodies all meanings of the Underworld, couldn't it? :D

The urban warrens of tunnels, caves, sewar systems, and old buried city sections that forms an underdark of sorts in Sigil, I've termed it UnderSigil before. The proper name given for it was the 'Great Below'.

And you know, come to think of it... I've never used the Underdark in -any- of my campaigns. Huh.

Indeed. What if when people died, they appeared as undead somewhere in the underdark? Except for the rare few who are translated to the isles of the blessed, or something.

In the Karathis setting (from Fiery Dragon), it´s called the Netherdeep.

I also like the term Cthonic Realms.

Eberron calls it "Khyber" or "the Dragon Below", named after one of the progenitor dragons who spawned fiends and other beings of evil from it and was banished to the world below.

Yes, definitely a mythical name. The sky is named after one dragon, which is supposed to be the sky, the world after another, the Underworld after another. It's something like the Greeks callling the underworld Hades (although technically Hades wasn't actually the underworld).
