Using things from d20 Deadlands in other games.

So has anyone else used Deadlands Spell Point/Spell Check system in other settings?

I've used the Huckster and given the PC back the option of the prohibited spells as well as the DL ones and it seemed to work fine.

I was thinking about using the Gunslinger in the Dragonstar setting. But I don't have Dragonstar yet, so it was just in the idea stage.

One of my favorite science fiction authors is Mike Resnick. He has something of a common universe that most of his sci-fi stuff is set in (but not all), that has something of a western feel to it. The gunslinger class would fit that.

I love what DragonStar did with Spellware, now the user, not the creater invests the xp to create an item, it makes more sense that way.

I've never been a big fan of DND's Alchemy/Craft rules. I like what they did in their mini game d20 Pulp in Dungeon 90, and in D20 Deadlands. d20 DL rules are more my style.
