Aiken surveys the battlefield. Seeing that Solange is being beset by some undead like (that is what they look like no?) hounds/wolves he moves in on the lone goblin on Pendrake's end. "Pendrake help Solange. I'll take care of these puny goblins!"

To the goblin he shouts in Goblin "Your death approaches weak little kitten!"

The Northerner was taught for battle from his youth, and when in armed conflict, your shield is not only for your self, but for your fellow companion...especially for the cleric...

At the instruction of Aiken to help 'mom', he gives no more then a glace to where she was and then he moves quickly to her aid. his blade is wet with goblin blood and his muscles have been aching for a fight aginst this very kind of ilk...spiky or not...

long Sword +5 1d8+3 19-20x2 (1d20+5=12, 1d8+3=9)

His sea green eyes are aflame with rage, but with no way to vent as the village elite do it only serves to cause him to simply swing widly at the goblin on Solange.

OOC: i Know i saw a map of sorts in this thread...whic post was it? By the way, if i have to incure an AAO to get to her, i will do so.

On his turn Cepheus will cast ghost sound attempting to mimic his previous adventure companions (Jik'tu full blooded Orc short on brains but big on strength and ferocity) most vicious battle roar as though a band of Orcs was charging the goblins in the north tunnel coming from the room the group is currently in. Hoping that will buy the group some time by slowing the goblins charge from the north tunnel.

If the goblin doesn't run. Aiken will still take up position at the entrance of the north hallway and attack the goblin if possible, if not he will close on the goblin in such a way that he is as near to the entrance as he can get.

Unfortunately he slides a bit in the spilled goblin blood and his strike goes wide Attack (1d20+4=11).

Round Four

OOC: Yeah, thanks Corwyn.

ROUND FOUR:

Pendrake: 23
Solange: 14
Dogs: 13
Goblin: 13
Cepheus: 10
Aiken: 5

Pendrake pulls back to Solange, parrying a fierce swing from the small goblin. His spirits raised by watching the northman "retreat", the goblin shakes his sword at the northman and grins wickedly.

When the northman charges one of the two dogs (very much alive, although their matted and blood-stained fur does have an undead-like appearance), they cower back for a moment. His blade, which would have just barely missed the creature, is pulled foward by some divine force (OOC: You forgot to add Solange's Bless bonus). The blade strikes true!
It stabs down into the side of the creature's throat, killing it instantly. Foul-smelling blood that steams in the air sprays onto Pendrake's arm.

The remaining dog barks and squeals loudly.

While Solange's arm itches, and is already breaking out into hives, it is merely uncomfortable. And she's more concerned with the remaining dog, that has already caught the scent of blood. The dog leaps in, takes a snap at Solange, and leaps back.

Solange is able to time the dog's jumps, and brings her stave down upon the creature's head when it draws near. The dog yelps in pain, a high-pitched sound that hurts the ears. Staggering on it's feet, it remains in the fray.

The dog once again lunges at Solange, although the priestess is still in tune with the dog's motions, and is able to keep the dog at bay with her staff.

The goblin that had been attacking Pendrake chases the northman, and tries to leap onto his back. It sceams loudly, and leaps - only to be knocked flat as the northerner spins around, and raises his shield. The goblin slams into the shield, falls to the ground, and staggers backwards a bit.

Cepheus casts his illusion, and in the small space, it sounds even more fierce. Hukk drops his torch, and puts his hands over his ears. The light in the room dims for a second, but is thankfully lit by the multi-coloured balls of light that dance about the place. Hukk then grabs the torch, and throws it at the mangy dog. The torch bounces harmlessly off the dog's fur.

Aiken engages the remaining goblin in battle, although both seem like awkward combatants.

The sound of charging goblins wavers for a moment. Aiken, standing near the northern passage, sees three more goblins, equipped with the same makeshift armour and swords, that have stopped and are beginning to analyze the situation - hesitant to enter the battle.

From the south, a single goblin carrying a long staff enters the room. Clad in various skins (rabbit and rat skins, apparently), the goblin has the look of a shaman. It appears to be a female, although it is always hard to tell with goblins. The shaman lets out a primal scream. "Kill them! KILL THEM ALL!"

END OF ROUND FOUR

Aiken will primarily try to block the north entrance. If he can he will start with killing the goblin engaging Pendrake. If he has to move from the entrance to do so he will engage the first goblin coming down the corridor and hopefully bottleneck them there.

Attack (1d20+4=11) if Aiken is flanking the goblin attacking Pendrake it's 13.
damage (1d6+1=5)

Darn the castle has lost some of it's love for poor Aiken. :(
