Water Problems [DM: Voda Vosa; Judge: Kalidrev!]

First Post
Myoko watched Frost get pulled into the ankheg burrow- she knew they had to work together to save him. With her own route blocked, she lashed out with her spear at one of the other insects. "Kavac! Go help Frost! We'll handle things here!" Her spear glanced off the ankheg's armored skin, and she moved carefully away from the remaining swarm. Somewhere deep down inside herself, the taint of shadow in her soul woke with a tide of furious anger. She growled, a harsh and bestial sound, and a renewed sense of strength flowed through her...

OOC: Drat! With Frost pulled into the burrow, he is out of range/LoE for Inspiring Word.
>Standard: Attack A3 with Wolf-pack tactics; +6 vs. AC= 9 (miss) ; roll Roll Lookup ; Before the attack, allow Kavac to shift 1 square as a free action.
>Move: Shift to G5

>AP: Use Second Wind; gain +2 defenses UENT, spend surge for +6 HP

OOC: Should have mentioned early: Look at the Ankheg description to see how are you soposed to escape the Ankheg. Kavac could provide Aid to the skill checks.

ooc - Voda said he was going on vacation this week in the other game I play in with him, I think he said the 28th he'd come back.

I think it's DA1's turn, then Kavac, then the swarm then us again.

Vardaal, Frost and Torqua are next.

Myoko misses with her attack, and shouts to Kavac.
The ankheg in the tunnel, keeps it's iron grip around Frost, and the shifter sees how it lunches it's inner mandibles to munch on his flesh. The bug it's eating him alive!
The golath reacts immediately and lunches himself recklessly towards the tunnel. As he does so, some of the larvae in the swarm attempt to bite him, but are unable to penetrate his hard skin. The adult Ankheg is more lucky, scoring a painful bite. Kavac Roars but keeps moving towards the entrance. He manages to grab Frost from his feet, and pulls back, helping his friend. However, it is Frost who must make the most of the effort.

The swarm of larvae crawl next to Torqua and the many creatures climb the round sorceress, and bite her soft skin, injecting a dangerous substance!

Desert Ankheg larvae swarm:
Centipede Swarm Level 2 Brute
Medium natural beast (swarm) XP 125
Initiative +4 Senses Perception +1; darkvision
Swarm Attack aura 1; each enemy that starts its turn within the
aura takes 3 damage plus 2 extra damage per centipede swarm
adjacent to the enemy.
HP 44; Bloodied 22
AC 14; Fortitude 14, Reflex 15. Will 10
Resist half damage from melee and ranged attacks; Vulnerable 10
against close and area attacks
Speed 6, climb 6 (spider climb)
i ) Swarm of Mandibles (standard; at-will) • Poison
+4 vs. Reflex; 1d6 damage, and ongoing 5 poison damage (save
ends); a creature already taking ongoing poison damage is also
weakened (save ends). The centipede swarm's attack deals 1
extra damage for each centipede swarm adjacent to it.
Survival Instinct (immediate reaction, when hit by an area or
close attack; at-will)
The centipede swarm shifts 3 squares.

Desert Ankheg Level 4 Lurker
Vermin large XP: 175
Initiative +2 Senses: passive Perception +16
HP 65; Bloodied 33
AC 18; Fortitude 16, Reflex 17, Will 14
Speed (land) 6
Speed (tunnel) 4
Darkvision
Low-Light vision
Resist 5 Fire and 5 acid
Bite (melee basic) (standard; at-will)
+9 vs. AC; 1d6 + 4 damage plus 1d4 acid damage.
Acid spit (Ranged) (standard; encounter)
+7 vs. Relfex; 3d8 acid damage. Hit: target weakened (save ends)
One such attack depletes the ankheg’s acid supply for the rest of the
encounter. Once used, the ankheg can’t deal additional acid damage. An
ankheg does not use this ability unless it is desperate or frustrated.
It most often spits acid when bloodied or worse
Capture (melee basic) (standard; at-will)
+9 vs. AC; 1d6 damage. Hit: Target is grappled.
If the ankheg is damaged after grabbing its prey, it retreats backward
down its tunnel at its land speed (not its burrow speed), dragging the
victim with it. An ankheg’s burrow is completely dark, and the
character won’t be able to stand from prone due to the tunnel’s
dimensions. The ankheg will try to kill it’s prey biting it
repeatedly, which will cause an ongoing 5 dmgs while the prey is in
the burrow. It takes three successful athletics rolls (dc:20) to scape
from an ankheg burrow.

OOC: As described in the monster stats, you need 3 rolls to successfully escape from the vermin. As it is a move action you can take 2 per round, even use an AP for aditional rolls. You have one success now, and need another two. I gave you the chance to change your actions if you want.
