Bad news. We can't make the gameday. We had a pipe break between the bathrooms and it needs to be replaced - to the tune of $1200 - and that isn't counting repairing the ceiling and the wall that it wrecked. Not sure where we are getting the money but we definitely can't afford to get to the gameday now. We're totally bummed, we were REALLY looking forward to it. :(

 I'm sorry to hear that. If you need anything at all, let me know!

Since we now control the location's availability and access, there isn't any reason (other than potentially confusing things further) that we can't start the sessions at 930am. I'm going to be on hand bright and early getting things ready and meeting early arrivals, so start time can be essentially whenever we want it to be.

It would probably be good for someone else to be there early as well, as entry into the office is a two-stage affair:

1) Main building door is locked, and someone will need to be there with a card-key to let folks in and then escort them to the elevator where the floor access is also security controlled.

2) Arrival on 4th floor dumps your straight into the company's lobby, but all doors there are locked as well, so someone with a card-key will need to open that door and then escort folks to the main area.

Psion, this may impact my participation in your morning game heavily. :\

Rodrigo, if you can take some time to meet me this week, I'd like to have a second pair of eyes see the set-up so that we can cover all the bases -- I can expedite your return to/from wherever you need to be if you're in Crystal City this week at all.

Sorry that this photo from Google is so old...

The black squiggly lines represent buildings of the Patent and Trademark Office that now exist. The big red dot is by the front or Main door of the building we'll be in, which is the old Time-Life building (has a plaque on the outside of the bldg to that effect). The address is 2000 Duke Street BUT the main entrance is on Dulaney Street. Note the location of the Metro, and the red squiggly line that I did to indicate the best walking path -- there is a pedestrian tunnel that goes under Duke Street but I don't know if the gates are open on the weekend.

Where's the nearest crosswalk in case it's not open on Saturday? Also, is there anyone you can call and find out if it is open or not?
