What are some more obscure character options, that you can give to your pc's in 3e dnd.

I can't believe I didn't think of this mechanic earlier: cursed items. Most effects are negative, obviously. But a few, like Helm of Opposite Alignment, or items that force a change to race, gender, or appearance, can be very useful under the right circumstances.

For that matter, alchemical items can be used to great effect as long as the target(s) aren’t immune to them.

Obviously there is races, classes, templates, feats and prestige classes, but what are some more less known things that you can apply to your characters i.e, Grafts, Symbiotes or psychoactive skins. Or things more akin to the Supernatural gifts from 5th edition

Just official WotC D&D or OGL too?
