I'm never going to buy a sourcebook for adventure content, so what adventure content there is had better tell an involved, engaging story. APs all the way.

I want new and interesting adventures, and I expect the length and format may vary depending on the author. But I don't want re-writes of old adventures, like the vault of the drow's sister, white plume hotel resort, etc. Just re-releasing old adventures covers that ground.

I think the poll results so far point pretty solidly toward "Bring back Dungeon Magazine."
I'd like to think so. For all I care, they can release one hard cover every-other year (or less). Just support the game with modular content via Dragon and Dungeon.

My ideal would be a return to the three adventures per issue format, where one of them was an entry in an adventure path.

Exactly. Most people (in this poll) want a mix of episodic and serial adventures. Dungeon could provide both, plus the third option of short series module. It seems like with campaign length APs we have lost the 3 adventure series, like Giants or Drow or whatever. Those things offer something special. They are like novels the PCs go through, without being a 12 book BFF series.

I'd like to see DUNGEON magazine return, too, but in print and back to accepting submissions for previous editions of the game. I want to be able to use an adventure from time to time, not just enjoy reading it.

The other nice thing about the Dungeon format is that they can mix and match FR support with Eberron, DragonLance, etc. and vanilla. I don't hate the Realms quite as much as I let on, but it does have the charm of a plague of locusts when they've said that's what's getting their creative energy, right now.

Dungeon magazine please/thanks.

As some others have mentioned: location-based stuff without too much mandatory weird backstory. Reasonably malleable villains so I can swap stuff in/out easily. Suggested connections between adventures without having them too tightly-coupled. Good maps.

Tonally, I'm partial to low-magic swords-and-sorcery leaning adventures with sidetrek-sized comic-relief stuff, but just give me a good variety of fantasy content and I'm happy.

This is such a great idea. I would buy this book.

Sure, murdering adventurers in increasingly bizarre and poorly rhymed ways is /fun/, Keraptis, but 36 years in this place and what have you really got to show for it? A couple of glorified farming implements and a primadonna of a sword. You're not getting any younger, and Lich and Clone have such expensive material components!

...You know, this mountain of yours would be prime real estate for a casino....

Yep. I think my ideal format would be three adventures per month, one each of low/mid/high level, one an AP installment, and one setting-specific.

And, of course, being willing to make exceptions to any of the above as appropriate. :)
