Which adventure to use

Not a bad choice but I prefer the ones Monte did myself.

Well that or Dungeon ones. They have some good ones as I said.

I agree that they're better modules as a whole, but they're a little more complicated. A first-time DM is better off with something simpler (the biggest reason why I didn't suggest White Plume Mountain, my favorite module EVER).

Another good choice is Lochfell's Secret. I ran that for my group, and they totally destroyed it, until half the group fell to a random Wail of the Banshee trap, that wasn't even guarding anything.

Hunh. Spider Eaters came across as being one of my favourite low-level Dungeon adventures in a long time... Whatever,different strokes, eh?

There are a lot of fun low-leveladventures. A good thing to mentionwould be knowing what the rest of your group is playing, and make sure that the adventure syncs up.

do you have or have access to the Basic boxed set?

there are some short adventures/encounters in it.

plus it comes with dice and minis.
