Will magic implements + magic weapons make high level multiclassing unfeasible?

A thought inspired by David Eddings. Have the weapon and implement combined as one. If you use it as weapon in one round, you cannot use it as an implement until the start of your next, and visa versa. Saves the cheasy stow/quickdraw combos.

I wouldn't call a single feat (for a token encounter power) "a zillion steps"... and even if you go whole-hog, you've got two spare feats left before 11th level.

That's part of the plan. They want you to buy the swordmage. I'm only half joking here, I really think actual multiclassing is intentionally suboptimal when compared to core classes.
