Appearance: Wimzig is a rather short and slender gnome, his dark brown hair gathered back tightly to the back of his neck with a small bronze ring. He tends to favor earthy yellow clothing and bronze jewelry. When readying himself for battle he wears mithral armor etched with bronze gear patterns. When not, he prefers a loose, knee-length vest full of pockets. He carries with him a great deal of tools, and has been known to clank like a tinker when walking about. Around his neck is a bronze gear, his holy symbol of Gond.
Personality: Wimzig is a very through and meticulous individual, given to a great deal of introspection and planning. He sees people through a very odd lens, assessing their strengths and weaknesses as if they were machines. He considers the creation of something out of the mind as a holy act, and is infuriated by the wanton destruction of such things.
Background: Wimzig grew up on Lantan, surrounded by the myriad of craftsgnomes, the endless numbers of forges and shops, and the huge temple of Gond. At any early age his parents, both ardent engineers, had imbued him with a desire to create things from wood and metal. He learned to create things he could imagine, and found his passion in bringing to life things seen in his dreams. He was educated very well, and drank in the knowledge about his favorite chosen subjects, machinery and the magic to make it truly alive.
His desire to create and learn eventually drove him from Lantan to seek inspiration on the mainland. It was there that he began to have persistent dreams of a golem-like creation, a man of wood and metal, a companion and guardian. Gond spoke to him in his dreams and told him he would be able to create this companion, if he would give his life over to The Wonderworker. This Wimzig did without hesitation. He worked hard for many years, traveling all over Toril, spreading the knowledge of creation.
Three years ago Gond finally rewarded him with the power and final knowledge to complete his mechanical companion, which he dubbed Aegis Ward. Knowing Gond would wish to test and temper them both Wimzig and Aegis have been traveling, looking for ways to complete their creation within, as well as without.
