A friend of mine in the industry referred to them as "wahtzee" back when they were known only for M:tG and Pokemon, and I picked it up from him. It's just a handy shortcut.

I've called them WotC ("what-see") ever since I heard Gary Gygax pronounce it that way at Gencon '99, because I'm such a fanboy. :)

I had another poll option that said "Even if I were being pursued by wild tigers I would never say anything other than 'Wizards of the Coast is a registered trademark of Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc.", but it was too long :)
