A race of creatures formed from diamond in the high gravity of a pulsar or supermassive black hole. I like this idea. A super tough monster with a really high SOAK. I need to think of how PCs would be able to defeat it, though. Hmmm. Crystalline critters are vulnerable to sonic damage. That might be enough.

  • 11:55 PM - Morrus quoted Ironxxx in post Starship Sizes: Changing the Assumptions
As I understand it according to your guidelines it means hangar bays use less cargo units on smaller ships. I'd have them use the same amount, shuttles and fighters don't decrease in size just because the parent ship does. You make an excellent point! I think it probably applies to tractor beams, too.

  • 11:26 PM - Morrus quoted Ironxxx in post Confused with FTL speeds and AL 10 navcomps
Ah, so the cpu of the al10 navcomps contributes toward the cpu limit, much like other ship components? What about Edefence, Range Inc and Soak (on the ship builder tool), do they replace the values from the normal computer or are they cumulative? I notice they're not in the starship builders handbook on page 21 Use the highest. The pure navcoms don't give you anything extra other than FTL speeds. You're really just talking about those last two items on the builder (Adrikson CS-1 and Arakis T100).

  • 02:17 PM - Morrus quoted Ironxxx in post N.E.W. Character Sheet (Google Sheets)
The descriptor is automated in Cell I3, it uses the top career in cell I50 as its career choice, so the default one I've left in is "A(n) 25 years old Massive Human Navy Brat who loves fishing". Is that what you meant? Oh, doh! I was looking at the row above it - for some reason my brain blanked out the line directly below! How's it choosing the career, incidentally? I see it has Navy Brat, but that's his origin.

Would you mind sharing a copy? :) I am reusing the Google doc link that I had on the old WotC forum, namely https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1U41aaPW5C-RuTzUi0bzSKkub8wmQquOy-eawua4yR5I/edit?usp=drive_web As always it is open for anyone to edit, thus anyone can take over for me.

  • 01:40 PM - Asaris quoted Ironxxx in post Kensei: The Sword Master. A Monastic Tradition
Thanks for the comments! Iaijutsu is far too powerful as is, limit it with Ki use and it may solve the issue. My thought with Iajutsu was that the Kensei doesn't really want to be attacked -- even with medium armor, he's going to be pretty squishy. But adding a 1 ki cost seems like a good balance. Flash Step is also wildly unbalanced, 60' teleport AND all your actions plus advantage? Again, needs toning down and limiting. I see the monk speed increase as already performing this function too. Flash step is actually almost an exact port of the shadow monk's 6th level ability; the only different is that the ninja is limited to using it in shadow. I didn't consider this a huge restriction, since it seems like PCs usually have ready access to dim lighting, but a possible way to balance it would be to remove it giving advantage (which would be more important to the player trying to fight in dim light) Perfect Defence is invulnerability? I like the concept but again it's too over the top, ...
