Enseth targeted the Bannerman but he was too slow and missed. He stood ready to move forward if Angis could take care of him. Enseth moves if the Hobgoblin falls and tries to protect Tommi while ORB4 gives him easy targets.

Lathander's warmth was welcome in those frozen caves. Invigorate by the healing, Lorenn bowed to Sesto and joined Kalorn to help with the improvised stairs, adding a stair rope and some pitons. "I was on my way to Maccarth when I heard your fight. It seems I came back just at the right time...", he said with a smile. "But I agree, I would rather not fight the Dracolich. Taking a smarmy tone, Lorenn replied, "Oh I'm deeply sorry for this discomfort, Milord." "But you woke up the entire complex with the crazy slurping spell you guys cast! Now if you miss your slippers and a warm fire, my Elven hide can fix that."

Never leave your wingman. Complying with his Master's directives, Enseth stays in formation with Angis and move forward to the Hobgoblin. ORB4, mark the target for our friends, will you. "Bee-boop" acknowledged the drone before flying to the Hobgoblin. Movement: with Angis ORB4: help anyone who's trying to shoot the Hobgoblin.

An easy way to zoom on the map is to: 1. Right click on the map 2. Chrome: select "Open image in new tab" / Firefox: Ctrl+click "View image" to open it in a new tab 3. Go to the new tab and zoom in with Ctrl+scroll 4. Kill the Hobgoblin 5. Profit

Well, I'm getting tired of waiting on Fradak, so I'm going to move on tonight or tomorrow. I've noticed that tglassy, you haven't posted for Titus either. The girl will duck under the hobgoblin and run toward you with him in chase, so TitusWolf can absolutely jump on the hobgoblin if you like.

...t building and fired his crossbow at a hobgoblin that was coming forward from the docks. The hobgoblin held a banner - a white sheet stained with blood on a long pole with a cross-bar. The hobgoblin spun the pole, and the quarrel went wide. Then the hobgoblin bannerman moved with uncanny speed, crossing the open field in quick strides. He disappeared from sight around the other side of the building. Angis was unsure as to which way the bannerman had gone, nor from which direction he might return. Tommi Convinced that the fire would go out on its own without seriously damaging the bridge, Tommi ran over to the same building as Angis and leaned on the wall next to a chimney, blowing on some of his sling-stones. Averiel vs HobArcher2 Averiel leapt over the bridge's scorched railing, and landed on a grassy hill. She took a few ranging shots at the hobgoblin archer, but he was far away - even as he strode toward them, he easily side-stepped her arrows as they struck into the ground. Fradak Enseth needs to go, if you have a moment. @tglassy Titus can still take a turn! Okey doke, it looks like it's just Fradak, gargoyleking, VladtheDestroyer and Neurotic that are in right now, so we'll go on without Shayuri, and Bunny can hop in anytime (see what I did there?) Y'all are currently in "Planning Mode", so if you want to take time to converse and come up with a plan, go ahead, just let me know when you're ready to take on the fort, if that's what you're doing.

Fradak I just noticed that I never answered your question regarding Kobolds seeing Lorenn. Yes, as soon as they ran out of the tunnel (which they did, not because they knew he was there, but because they came out to look for trouble in general) they would see him. You're only hidden with Stealth when you're opponent doesn't have direct line-of-sight. (They gained line-of-sight when they moved).

Neurotic replaced River Song, who hasn't been on for over a year. I might be ok with going up to six, but let's see if any of the others want to come back first.

Fradak. I'll move your web over to the left one or two squares from where you show it. It needs some walls to attach to, or it collapses to the floor. As you can see on your map, it won't reach anything right there (other than the Kobolds themselves!)

(OOC: Based on Sooty's position, Kalorn has a rough idea of what's going on and he'll share that to help shape the party's understanding of the situation - we don't know *how many kobolds there are but at least the rest of the party will have a rough idea of what's going on with Lorenn. Fradak: I'm assuming that Sooty would see Lorenn unless he's invisible/sneaking) Kalorn's eyed widened, and his old military instincts kicked in. He spoke barked "Sooty saw Loreen to our back, with half a dozen hostile kobolds - he'll slow them down. at least Kalorn hoped so. We're going to need fire magic vs those trolls! Focus on one at a time, delay the others! Fall back behind me. Sesto to me! Sooty fall back!" OOC2: I want Sooty to stay a safe distance from the Kobolds but try to keep an eye on things so Kalorn knows what's going on. Move: P18, as far as he can go in a single move. Doesn't want to be just as the foot of the slope. Kalorn moved ahead as much as he could, and pointed at the lead troll with his left hand. "That one!" Lorenn As he followed the circular central tunnel clockwise, Lorenn came to a deep, foggy room on his right. Peering through the fog, he could see looming out of the shadows, a full-sized Longship, its sail raised and frozen in a curve, as if it were being blown by a strong wind. Eko flew in nervously and had a quick look around. She had not gotten far when she spotted an enormous squid, looming out of the fog as if it were attacking the Longship like the stories of a Kraken. It too, was frozen, though unlike the Giants of the other chamber, who were frozen behind solid walls of ice, this was petrified with frost - preserved, but free. While Eko was discovering this, Lorenn received a message from Kalorn, requesting he catch up to the rest of the group. There's more to see in the room, but it might be dangerous. Fradak will have to choose if he wants to risk Eko or bring him when/if he leaves to catch up with the group.

Angis, Titus, Tommi, & Dandin vs Darkenbeast As the misshapen beast flew out of the well, it was all teeth and claws. Still, it seemed confused, desperate, and perhaps even frightened as it flailed at Angis, who struck it with a hand axe while cursing. The dwarf was scratched on his face for his troubles, getting three shallow lines across his cheek and forehead. Titus had jumped back and, using the magic cloak for the first time, had transformed into a wolf. Tommi ran into the hall leading to the well-room and slung a stone at the beast as it rose up out of the well. A welt appeared on its shadowy grey skin, and the stone fell into the well with a watery plop. Dandin mocked the beast, but it did not seem to understand him. At any rate, it ignored him. Still, he got a nervous laugh from a few of the villagers, which pleased him. Is Fradak even around? I'll just have Enseth work his way toward the fight. Damage Taken: (BGs) DB 3 (Angis' Axe) & 7 (Tommi's stone) (PCs) Angis 4 (DB's Claw); (NPCs) None Darkenbeast Wis Save vs Dandin 1d20+1: 19 [1d20=18] Darkenbeast Bite & 2 Claws vs Angis 3#1d20+4: 3 # 6 [1d20=2] 5 [1d20=1] 17 [1d20=13] 3d4+2: 8 [3d4=3, 2, 1] 2#1d6+2: 2 # 4 [1d6=2] 4 [1d6=2]

@gargoyleking & @Fradak From where Harb is, he can't see Tarri and Kasqa's struggles, but he has a very good view of Rodrigo, Qawasha, and Imogen. Chrysagon, on the other hand, can see everyone. Do you both want to concentrate fire on a single pterafolk (say, the one on Rodrigo), or would Chrys go for the one trying to drag Tarri away? In other words, any target preferences here? Edit: Looks like Chrys can focus-fire with Imogen if you want to go after the one on Tarri. I will go with that if I get to resolving it before you have a chance to reply. In which case, don't worry about it!

Enseth & Tommi vs Captain1 & Aasha Enseth reported the likelihood of defeat to the hobgoblin captain, who replied, "Naw. Now I am General when I kill the man who killed Shorgg!" and he stepped around the shield guardian to get at Tommi, who had come to inspect the fallen general. Seeing him coming, Tommi jumped away and slung a stone that struck the hobgoblin right between the eyes. His dark eyes rolled back, showing whites, and he fell to the ground dead, with no chance of promotion. At that moment, the Hobgoblin archer came around the pillar she was using for cover, and she shot two arrows at Tommi. He was able to duck one, but the other struck him in the arm and he felt two of his fingers go numb. Just Titus to go tglassy. I'll do Dandin and Angis healing then. Oh, I guess Enseth only spoke, so he can have a full turn if you want, Fradak. So the way I see it, there are 3 important things we need to do 1: Stop Sesto from sinking into the abyss. Prickly Pear , what would happen if you cast water walk? Fradak, can that board go under water? Anyone else have a trick? :/ 2: Slow down that skeleton giant - we don't need it dead right now, just delayed. 3: Focus fire. We've done 120 points of damage in one round (!!!)... but no enemy is dead because we all shot at different targets! I'll keep the leader distracted, but people with the capacity to easily pick target should focus if possible.

I hope that Alhana and Lorenn have been quiet because they are happy to follow along for this last little while and not because I have lost the intetest of Charwoman Gene and Fradak in this game! (Please let me know!) I know that I have been reacting to the posts of the frequent posting players but it is not because I don't value your input - quite the opposite. It's that I assume that an infrequent poster is either 1: busy or 2: waiting for me to move on to something they find more interesting. In this case I assume that a nice combat would be that thing. So far we have managed to skip 3 potential combats in a row. I don't expect this to be a low-combat game, but so far it has worked out looking that way. If you are waiting, hang in there. If I've lost your interest, on the other hand, I am sorry for it.

You should have listen when Lorenn warned you on the boat. :) "Over there you have... Oh yeah... Mord. Weird guy. I'd say he joined some kind of gang recently." Lorenn made quick gestures in front of his face, mimicking a mask. "Daddy issues obviously. My advice: wait for his crazy black voids to pop up before going into battle. You'll thanks me later. Wait, now that your talking about it, he sucked Eko once..."Oh I know that, just wondering how you knew about that specific moment - Fitz suggested that you heard it.
  • 07:34 PM - Ancalagon quoted Fradak in post (IC) Rise of the Dracolich
Kalorn frowned, slightly dropping out of guard. Was that Loreen signing? In front of a dragon? What was going on. "Sooty, go find out what the heck is going on. Ware the dragon." louder he added "False alarm... maybe? Is he always talking off like this?" The little bat flew out down the tunnel. Lorenn recognized Mord signature spell for sure. Quick OOC question: how did you recognize the spell if you were far away? Just trying to make sure I have the scene well understood in my mind.

Here is what happened to Chrys: The Pterafolks rolled 23 22 19 18, even with disadvantage. And Chrys crit failed his death save. Kelemvor is clearly abandoning him. I run a game with a paladin as the main tank of the group. Paladins can be good tanks (and at higher level, their saving throw protection aura is super good), but for more mundane clubs and arrows kinda threats, all they have is their AC. The barbarian has damage resistance, the battlemaster has maneuvers and the eldritch knight has "burst AC", but the paladin is quite vulnerable to a series of good rolls... Apart from getting better armor, casting shield of faith (and honestly, bless may be better as a use of your concentration), I'm not sure what else you can do :/

Could he launch his grappling to blast the doors? I don't think the grappling hook would hit with enough force to open the doors, but it could catch, and he could try to pull them open. They open the other way, so he'd have to break them. I'd allow the attempt. But maybe Tommi or Dandin can climb up there? It would be easier, I would think. Also: Looks like Titus is not quite used to being a Wolf yet. Poor Angis.

Medic You master the physician’s arts, gaining the following benefits: • Increase your Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20. • You gain proficiency in the Medicine skill. If you are already proficient in the skill, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it. • During a short rest, you can clean and bind the wounds of up to six willing beasts and humanoids. Make a DC 15 Wisdom (Medicine) check for each creature. On a success, if a creature spends a Hit Die during this rest, that creature can forgo the roll and instead regain the maximum number of hit points the die can restore. A creature can do so only once per rest, regardless of how many Hit Dice it spends. Ah, okay. I basically ignore UA, which is why I hadn't heard of it. Doesn't sound too bad.

I just realized that if Enseth takes 42 damage, he dies. (20-42= -22) edit: It's ok, it must be in one shot. ;) It was so much damage that I'd nearly written a post where Enseth's head was severed from his body (I figured he could survive without it and get it put back on later, if he lived) until I realised that I needed to roll disadvantage!

Yup and he is immune to disease. He can heal 3 pple max. I don't have the time to play right now. So Fitz, feel free to move on with Chrysagon healing ppl. I don't want to slow the game down. Took the time. (crazy day) I knew paladins could, I just wasn't sure if it was possible at level 3 - such a good class! Thanks for taking the time, and I hope things quiet down a bit

Took the time. (crazy day) I missed that he is immune. I went back and fixed it. I still think that Miss Imogen would play down how sick she is (she also came closest to making the dc out of people who failed. In my mind that means she came down with it last, or has a milder case.) Kobold can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Chrysagon will heal everyone but Dellrak and MissI.
