Has it really been 30 years?

So today is my 41st birthday, which means I've now been roleplaying for 30 years exactly.
I was lucky enough to get some money in a birthday card so I'm heading off to Leisure Games to buy the new Monster Manual.

Which is exactly what I did in 1979.

You know what? I love D&D.

Wow--it's funny that I didn't think of that. But my 40th birthday last month was also my 30th gamer anniversary. Talked an uncle into getting the 'Blue Box' basic D&D set for me for my 10th birthday after seeing an ad in Games magazine for it. My parents were thrilled.

Have good birthday.

Similarly happened to me as well - turned 40 2 years ago, and I started playing in '77. So it my 30th as well.
