Kickstarter Kickstarter: Ramen Sandwich Press is now pre-selling Places by the Way #2 and #3

Places by the Way, a series of short modules for Dungeons & Dragons 5E, is back on Kickstarter! We just launched a campaign to pre-sell Places by the Way #2: A Treasure on the Rocks, and its sequel, Places by the Way #3: Secrets of Ouster Cove. This is your chance to reserve a copy of the Limited Edition of each module, which contains an Easter Egg of special content that will not be part of the version that goes on sale to the general public! Limited Edition print copies will be autographed by the author, veteran RPG writer and developer Douglas Sun.

Think of them as glittering mosaic tiles that you can drop into a campaign to provide your player characters with diverting side quests and memorable interludes while they follow the overall story arc. After all, a great campaign world is one in which memorable experiences can be had even in places found by the way.

The first weekend of our second Kickstarter campaign is in the books. We are pleased to see that our backers so far are a mix of people who backed our first campaign and people who are new to Places by the Way. Old friends are cherished, but new friends are always welcome.

We're always happy to reach new potential fans with Places by the Way, but we also appreciate the continuing support from those who backed our first campaign as a sign that we did something right the first time around. We feel strongly that there is a place in the vast universe of D&D OGL products for modules that create colorful dots that you could drop onto the map of your campaign world, and your interest motivates us to keep making Places by the Way the best it can be.

The final cover art for A Treasure on the Rocks is ready, and we just swapped it in as the banner image for our current Kickstarter campaign. We really like what Melissa McDonald came up with for us, so we're putting it on a t-shirt. Furthermore, we're offering a pre-sale discount to our Kickstarter backers! Wear the lizard dude with pride!

We're also offering leftover print copies through our current Kickstarter of the Kickstarter-only, Limited Edition, which features an Easter Egg of content you won't find anywhere else — featuring a bad pun, a valuable magic item for your party to wrangle, and a cheap reference to one of the classics of fantasy literature and cinema. We printed some extra copies in case author Douglas Sun screwed up while signing the Kickstarter rewards; thankfully, he got it mostly right and so we're left with some spares. Doug will autograph these copies as well, so they'll be instant collectibles!
