OotS #573

Yes. This whole time they've been split since the end of the battle, the strips have gone down a notch, and I've just wanted the party to reunite and move on. *Sigh*

Oh well, if Haley has to singlehandedly rescue Celia and Belkar, she won't be able to do it with force, so maybe we'll finally see her in her old fast-talking rogue-ish glory that she hasn't had since the first third of the strip. Coincidentally, back then she was my favorite character, as opposed to my current assessment...

To be fair, my comment was about the poor choice in story, not about the ongoing story-line. A naive celestial taking a dead man, a sick halfling, and a cat into a rough town against the advice of the rogue is a very bad idea. Haley is by far the most competent warrior they have at the moment and she's sleeping by the fire.

To be fair, Celia isn't aware she's taking the sick halfling with her.

EDIT: Crazy prediction!
[sblock]Belkar spreads his disease to the entire town, resulting in massive death ala the Black Plague, much to Celia's incredulous horror. That'd be hilarious -- Belkar's a mass murderer even when he's incapacitated.

As for why he didn't infect the others, umm...they're high level and made the fort save?[/sblock]

I don't think that's how it works. It is not really a disease. It's a curse/mark effect.

You are right, she didn't.

I love your idea, even though I doubt it would/could happen. It would be the type of irony Rich works well in.

It was caused by a curse/mark, doesn't mean that it didn't trigger a disease.

Creating a curse that would spread around a contagious disease doesn't seem like the sort of thing that good aligned clerics and paladins would do.

Can we please have one discussion about the comic that is actually about what IS happening instead of what ISN'T? Just once?

We can do that when something actually DOES happen... :p

The last panel was pretty good though, Belkar'll likely find some way to complicate things in an amusing fashion.
