I think that ENWiki is a wonderful idea...but it hasn't taken root like I thought it would. And that puzzles me.

Come on, folks. We've got some of the best and most creative minds on the whole planet right here in this community. We have the technology. And we have the time, apparently, if a 20+ page thread on dragonborn boobs (seriously?) can exist. So what's holding you back?

Check all that apply.

I was going to post up some 3e stuff that I made, but my wiki-fu is just not good. I couldn't figure out how to make a new page. The site was also exceedingly slow while I was trying to figure this out, and ultimately I got frustrated.

Time. If I really wanted to do something there, I head to learn how really set up a Wiki page, and I have something to write down. For the time being, I will limit my genius* in game design to the House Rules and the blog forum. If I feel I have written enough material down, I might take a weekend to put it online.

*) why's everyone laughing?

:)

For me:

Lack of know-how...I managed to create a new category for my stuff (by opening other pages for editing, reading the code, and reverse-engineering it), but I couldn't figure out how to make a new page.

Too slow...I got too frustrated, waiting for the pages to load.

It's easier than you think. You see, on a wiki you don't make a new page. You just go to a page that doesn't exist, and by doing so it exists.

If you look at the list of Wanted pages, that's a list of links people have created to non-existent pages. By simply clicking on one of those links and going to that non-existent page, it will exist. I think, therefore I am - or something like that! :)

Mostly it's 'cause my wik-fu is more whack-fu. I'm also an avid puppy kicker. I guess we're allowed to cross post stuff though, right. I've got some other articles floating around that I could put up.
