Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder RPG Beta Release is available!

Amethyst is a dragon god...I thought everyone knew that? :)

Timing? A name? Oh...you mean money! Sorry, I forgot about subtlety. ;)

Timing...well...I was having a conversation with someone about timing recently. Remind me again in two months about timing. ;)
Strange, I suddenly have non-grandma-friendly associations, but luckily, you're talking about two months and not 9 months, so I know it is just my dirty mind, nothing else..

All alone... :(

I still haven't been able to download the beta. I even created a new account at Paizo (you never know). Has any body else had this problem? I'm on a Mac but I'm sure that doesn't matter. I already e-mailed customer support but that was 4(?) days ago already.

Anyone?

I may be daft or just old but I have no idea what you are implying. :)
Maybe, it is for the better, but if you want to see my (derailed) train of thought:
[sblock]
Start at the end of what I originally quoted.

1) What time period is usually said to be 9 months.
2) Where do they say that Timing is important (typically a male 'problem')

If that's not enough, it just shouldn't be. That's okay, too. ;)

Mustrum,

I guess you should realize that "-ma" part of "grandma" is there for a very specific reason. Actually, using word "dirty" in this context would be unappropriate.

Obligatory disclaimer #1: :P
Obligatory disclaimer #2: Yes, I'm actually contesting something here.

Regards,
Ruemere

Nope, I haven't had any issues, but I wasn't using a Mac. I doubt that is the reason as the personalization of the PDF happens on the server.

I grabbed the single file copy when it came out last week, but I didn't get a chance to read it until yesterday. Even then I redownloaded the chapter version file so I could break down my reading of it. (I was sick yesterday so I had time to read....)

I'm impressed. I like the changes. I think my wife is going to have fun rebuilding Heroforge to work with Pathfinder. (she was already doing that for 3.5 because she has a Mac with openoffice.)

I especially like the new grapple, trip, etc rules. I'm not sure how the polymorph is going to play out, but I think that is a good improvement as well.

I appreciate the designer notes through out the book. It helps to see the reason why rules were changed rather than the 3.0 to 3.5 change WotC did that in most cases made no sense and seems like random name changes at worst.

I would like to have seen answers for questions that appear in the FAQ incorporated into the new beta.

For example, spells whose effect is "Line" have been problematical. (See the large thread on Wall of Fire and the questions regarding which squares are affected.)

They had an opportunity to clean up all the dirty little niches of 3.5E and they touched on some of them (grappling, polymorph) but ignored a huge amount of them. That is quite disappointing.

I'm a player in a campaign that is converting to the PF beta. We'll be playing tomorrow night, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the new classes work out. I'm building characters for Sorceror, Monk, and Soulknife (the last using the unofficial psionics extension).
