True20, I Think I Love You

Was there a Blood and Fists book that wasn't True20? I'm pretty sure I picked it up along the way in hopes of helping convert my KaraTur game to 3e. That convertsion is actually what I'm using True20 for. I didn't realize it was True20 at the time if that's what it is.

The original version was for d20 Modern, and it's pretty much been my most successful book to date. I've since done a True 20 version, and a Modern20 version.

Points to Aus Snow for getting that right ;)

And btw, add me to the voices that say Interface Zero rocks.

His True 20 stuff is all quite good. Legends of Excalibur is spot on, and Darwin's World and Wild West are at least as good as True20 as they were under any other system.

Hey, thanks man!

Id like to point out though, that Wild West isnt a conversion, it was done from the ground up for True20, so only True20 fans can enjoy that one. It was a lot of fun to do too.

You too, huh? I haven't bought the rules yet, but I found in that game that True20 seemed to solve most of my 3.5 issues - now I need to see whether it can accomodate some of my specific needs...

We actually picked it up the day before. PKB had been looking forward to grabbing it for some time, but I wasn't all that excited....then.

I think True20 is perfect for modern and future games. That's why I chose to go with True20 as the rule set for Reign of Discordia. I could have gone with D20 Future, Traveler, or a few other systems, but True20 had all the features I liked while allowing me the greatest freedom. Two thumbs up!

I like True20 a lot, but it's got its fair share of clunkiness, mostly 3.5 stuff that was unecessarily ported over. The Toughness system seems awesome at first, but damage scales as level increases, while the ability to resist damage does not, which makes monster design...complex.

True20 really needs another edition to make things work, with a lot of thought given to the core mechanics and math of the game. (I'd switch everything to d20+mods vs. DC instead of keeping saving throws as they are, for a start)

Let's just say that for RPG rules, I'm not an early adapter.

I may be late to the party, but I'm here until dawn.
Fraser,

As someone who's used your own Modern Medieval series of books for his True20 game, and even gotten your support on some rules clarification, it warms my heart to hear your confession!

You earned it. :D You're welcome, anyway.

True. It reminds me, a lot, of Sidewinder Recoiled for d20 Modern, so I tend to think of it as the True20 version of that book.

Which is another compliment, by the way. ;D

Looks like I'm in some good company.

Ironic that True20 actually removes the impetus I had for working on Modern Medieval, since it provides a unified system with all the coolness and functionality I desire for use with both Fantasy and Modern. That, of course, doesn't mean that the Modern Medieval supplements don't have their uses in a True20 campaign. They just need a little work.;)

I share the love felt here. If anything true20 is my favorite system. I love its flexibility. In fact it has replaced, for quite some time, 3.5e. I run a fantasy campaign with it and it works well. I am keeping track of Pathfinder from Paizo and am currently DMing the Beta a bit. I like the changes it brings to 3.5e and fully support Paizo's effort to keep the OGL alive.

As I am writing up my new RPing setting I am definately considering adding rules for both True20 and Pathfinder. Pathfinder and True20 are both quite different so I'll probably need to tap the local brain trust of Pathfinder and True20 afficianados for assistance on True20izing and Pathfinderizing some classes. ;)

Wyrmshadows
