Okay, the stupid smilies sidebar HAS GOT TO GO. Along with some img/bits/final_lnk file or whatever (according to the status bar at the bottom of my browser when trying to load a page to post), they're messing up my browser's attempts to load EN World pages for posting or editing. And the smilies sidebar has been causing lesser problems for months now.
I can't use the buttons or dropdowns above the text field when posting or editing, and can't use the smilies on the sidebar either. This wasn't a problem yesterday, as far as I can tell, but it seems the site is undergoing more changes and they're slowing it down further.
Now every time I try to post or edit a post, my browser always gives my the caution - Error on page. line on its status bar, and it never really finishes loading; it just gives up on trying to load those parts above and to the side of the text field (some don't even display anymore). So I can't highlight my characters' speech with color in PbPs here anymore, and can't add bolding, smilies, links, or anything like that. I KNOW this wasn't a problem yesterday, but I haven't done a single thing to my browser in weeks, months, or even longer (I can't change its version, it's already at the last version available for my Windows system), so it can't be a problem on my end.
While I know I can still try to add stuff like text formatting manually, I never studied HTML, so I don't know the specific coding to use for most of that stuff. I only know the bits for bold, italicize, underline, and spoiler blocks; but not the specific coding for different text colors, let alone the specific coding for embedding links.
....also, when I first tried to post this, I got a stupid error about using too many tags, even though I didn't add any, so I had to reload EN World because it wouldn't finish loading the page after that. -_-
