Good episode, but not as good as the pilot. The "fringe" science stuff may get annoying as they keep coming up with deus ex machina to get the answers they need, like the mind meld in the pilot episode.

I hope this doesn't fall into the Star Trek: TNG trap of coming up with techno-babble solutions to every problem.

The acting and main story, however, are still very enjoyable.

I actually liked it more than the pilot. *shrugs* The plot and some of the scenes were thoroughly creepy.

Agreed. I think the main actress is very good. I also really like the interaction between the 3 main characters.

I like the characters (even if I can't get any names straight yet ;) ).

The science? Oh dear, not so good. I suppose I just have to ignore it, unless they manage to create some internal consistency and it's not just "pseudo-science deus ex machine of the week". (I mean, Startrek had pseudo-science deus ex machina of the week, too. But they often had a certain "system" behind it... Rules they didn't ignore and that you could rely on, until they consciously and openly made up a way to ignore a rule.)

I would totally use that device to look into peoples' minds up until 6 hours after death ALL the time. I was like couldn't they have used that on the pregnant woman? They got to her quick enough, right? Coulda been like 'my mind to your mind, my thoughts to your thoughts; oh, that's what the killer looked like; let's get this bastard.'

But then again, I thought they should have used it on the people that died at the end last week. 'Someone TOLD you to do this? *looks into their memory* Oooo, interesting.'

Would probably ruin the show though...
