24 - 4e style (closed)

Was just about to post that... good to see you are already thinking about it, hopefully you come to a positive conclusion. :)

Actually, on several occasion I rolled abysmally against Velmont's character. That's weird because I also have a long tradition of rolling great against him.

In one particular campaign, I killed his PCs 5 time in 10 levels. He is by far the record holder for most total PC death over our D&D career in my regular group.

;)

Yeah. I'm happy my strike of death is finally ended. And I must tell until the last combat, I haven't played wisely my character.

I'm willing to continue with that character on day 2.

Great game, I had a lot of fun Mal working through a highly tactical game. The 24 theme really made it a great way to encourage that type of play. I'd love to continue with an 11th level Mirage.

I think the part that I'm wondering about when it comes to Stealth is, whether it is enough to get into superior cover as part of the move action, or whether you would have to start in superior cover.

That's a good question but the new stealth entry states that the check is made at the end of of a move action and so presumably the the conditions for being hidden only have to be met at the end of the move too. It does indeed make a big difference if they have to be met before.

Okay, so at least 4 people are willing to continue. I'm waiting to hear from Gene and Spellsword seems to have dropped out from the face of the internet.

Even though I initially wanted five players, I didn't regret playing with 6; Large tactical battle are fun. I will want to involve solo and elites in day 2 so having a large group allows to get those in while still having variety. So I may want to do some recruiting.

@Erekose13: I hope you are ashamed for having full hp and 6 healing surges left at the end of the day. :D ;)

@Mal: Would it be alright, given that we continue, of course, if I change the deity for Leyra? I thought that Corellon's Grace might be useful here, but I would rather prefer my 'standard choice' (Melora), really.

Also, I guess I have to look for a new armor-enchantment, now that Veteran's Armor has been rendered mostly pointless. ;)

Okay, tentatively, if you want to upgrade your PC, here are the parameters;

Level 11

You can select a 12th, 11th, 10th, 9th, 8th and 7th level magic items (or lower, of course).

You can select 4 potions or alchemical item of level 12 or lower.

---

You can rebuild your character from the ground up; one or two players could even chance for an all-new PC if they want (for a sense of continuity, it's better to keep as many veteran as possible but I don't mind if someone wants to take this as a chance to experiment; I don't know about you, but I haven't played paragon yet).

---

At this point, having gained experience with 4e, I only have a handful of things I am wary of and most of you aren't using PCs who dabble much in them.

Double-weapons and, despite what I initially said to Gene, Battleragers are on that list. Others things like the Greatbow and blade cascade are also somewhat suspicious.

I'm not completely closed to these things but as a rule of thumb if you are entertaining the thought of using something that has proved controversial on the boards, it might be better to ask first.

Wow, hell , that was pretty damn awesome.

I'm DEFINITELY in for day 2.

No battle rager? Why not?!? Boo... Hiss... (You don't need to arguem I'm actually okay witht the decision even if I'm not certain I agree.)

the only suggestion I'd make is repeating the monster's Defense line in there status post from the DM. I spent a LOT of time searching through 3-4 pages of post looking for monster stats. No a big issue though, I had a terrific time

Yeah, the monster stats were really, really hard to find at times (esp. during the slowdown periods when it takes forever to load a page  ).

So, let me second that. :)

Also, labeling the sblocks could be handy, so you don't have to click them all, if you are looking for something specific. :D
