The different versions of BESM

Okay, so I have been looking around online and I find three different versions of Big Eyes Small Mouth.

I find the BESM 2nd Edition, BESM D20, and BESM 3rd Edition. Which one of these is the latest? And which one would you reccomend? And how different are they from each other? I can not find the 3rd Edition available even in PDF format.

EDIT: The only copy of the Third Edition is like $139 on Amazon!

Also, the First Edition of BESM is available at RPGNow. I personally recommend this version if you want something manageable and rules-light. Later revisions are significantly more complex.

Hehehe, funny enough I am also looking into that version. I am on a rules-lite kick right now. So BESM 1E looks pretty good.

Well, from what I saw of the preview, the rulebook is under 100 pages. So, it must be much lighter than the 240 page 3rd Edition of BESM.

Well, I tried ordering BESM 1E, and it blew up in my face as usual when I try to buy something online.

I have been charged for it, and it says I have bought it, but I can not download it. I have contacted their Technical Support, but I do not know when they will contact me.

I'd still prefer to hear the differences in rules if someone can give them. Just because something is lighter on rules than a comparable product does not mean that this is accomplished in a way everyone would want.
