I'm calling it! Myconids are one of the monster races in the back of MM2.

I'm gonna have fun with Mandible Carry power of the Ankheg. Skittering away with some PC in its mouth leading the rest of the party to something, ambush or something.

Kingdom of Ghouls may be my first adventure I buy. Since well it has Sigil!

Also, mhmmmm, clockwork bomb, :p

Ankhegs, woo! Although I'm not sure about the mandible carry. To move someone, don't you have to make a strength check?

I definitely think these guys need "friends" to keep the PCs off them while they drag someone off. I hope there's a non-elite version, but I anticipate that we'll see a suped up, higher level lurker.

At the moment I don't have the personal need for Eberron books, so I'll be saving a bit over the summer... I'll probably buy adventure books instead. The Empire of the Ghouls looks interesting.

Every creature breaks the rules in some way, so I don't see where they need to make the check. They have big freaking mandibles, of course they can!

My issue isn't that they can break the rules or not. My issue is that it isn't clear if they do or not.

It doesn't say, for instance, "They do not need to make (whatever check is regularly made) to move characters." It just says they move their full speed when they do. So, do they have to make a check, or not?

That myconid picture is sweet! Once again Steve Prescott delivers.

A bunch of cool monster previews too! They all impressed me in different ways, but I think the Dreaming Dark Assassin is the coolest with his melee range at-will dominate power. How will the Dual Mind power interact with PC powers that already allow them to roll twice? Will it, say, trump the avenger's oath of enmity? If an elf uses his racial power, would he re-roll both rolls & still use the lower result? In any case, pretty interesting!

Mmm, the dreaming dark assassin is delicious. Reminds me of the doppelganger assassin.

Although I do find it kinda funny that it has a teleportation power, no doubt meant to let it move away - but it has no ranged attacks. But, very cool.

So stewing on this for about 2 minutes, yes, they probably have to make the check, but instead of moving at half speed, they move at full speed if they make a successful strength vs Fort attack. That move is a standard action to accomplish, so the players have a chance to escape. I don't believe it needs clarification.
