Free RPG Day 2009

Wingnut

First Post
Well, we have opened up Free RPG Day 2009 for retailers to sign up. This is the part where you, the consumer, come in to help.

Most stores signed up because YOU walked into their store and told them you wanted them to participate. Please continue that this year and you can get your hands on the new quickstart rules for White Wolf's Geist RPG, a new 4th edition D&D adventure for Eberron, three different freebies from Mongoose and much more.

Check out the latest info at Free RPG Day

Best,
Aldo

Sadly my FLGS felt like there were too many complaints from last year and doesn't want to sign up due to the cost vs complaint issue.

It's too bad, really wanted that Eberron module

I click on your link but the site doesn't come up. I'll ping the FLGS owner about this one... last year he heard about it too late.

EDIT: nevermind, I am losing it. Thought I was in a different forum.

Complaints? About what? This stuff is free, so I can't imagine what people would be complaining about!

Complaints I have heard locally have been customers bitching that they can't take many copies of the free books as the store limits what customers can take so that more people can get something. And that certain titles the customer was looking for was either not gotten or already gone.

Of course I heard the store employees complaining that the customers were just coming in and taking lots of free books and then leaving.

I don't think that's Free RPG Day's fault though - sounds like the stores involved need to organize events around the Free Stuff, honestly.

Since it's an event drawing people in, makes sense to me that if I owned the store, I would want something to get people to stick around.

I don't blame Free RPG day at all, I'm just relaying the complaints. Personally, if I could participate without having to go to one of the stores around here to do so; I would.
