Using 3.0/3.5 Monsters with Pathfinder?

Lammasu

Something I haven't been noting down is that now all monsters seem to get an XP value to match their CR.

Lammasu
hp: SRD 7d10+21 PBB 9d10+36
BAB: SRD +7 PBB +9 (and other associated HD increases)
Con: SRD 17 PBB 19
SLAs: SRD CL 7, greater invisibility limited to self only PBB CL 9, no limitation on greater invisibility
Spells: cleric level 7 in both cases, but PBB has fewer spells (change to cleric, I guess)
Rake: damage is same, but PBB gives 2 claw attacks for rake
SRD grapple +17 PBB CMB +16 CMD 27
Skills: rearranged
Feats: PBB adds Improved Initiative and Power Attack
Treasure: SRD standard PBB 3350 gp

I also notice that the "frequency" qualifier on alignment seems to be gone. So the Lammasu goes from "always LG" to "LG" (and similarly for others).

Naga, Water

Naga, Water
PBB loses the aquatic subtype (if it even exists)
hp: SRD 7d8+28 PBB 8d8+40 (plus other HD increase benefits)
abilities: SRD Dex 13 Con 18 Cha 15 PBB Dex 23 Con 20 Cha 16
AC: SRD Dex +1 PBB Dex +6
Init: SRD +1 PBB +6
SRD grapple +12 PBB CMB +10 CMD 26 (cannot be tripped)
poison: SRD injury DC 17 1d8 Con/1d8 Con PBB "Bite level 7 save fort DC 19, frequency 1 round (10) effect 1 Con damage, cure 1 save" (The poison listing is explained in the beginning of the book except for the cryptic "level" notation.)
Spells: both sorcerer level 7, but PBB gains 1 3rd level spell and at will cantrips
Feats: PBB drops Alertness, adds Skill Focus (perception) and Skill Focus (stealth)
Skills: rearranged
Treasure: SRD standard PBB 2600 gp

Thanks for the side by sides, looks like I can still use my 3.0 and 3.5 stuff as is, or convert em over very easy. I do like many of the changes looks like they are moving things more inline with the listed CR which was always a bit wonky

Rhun, could you do a bit of a side-by-side comparison of a monster or two from the bonus bestiary? AC, attack bonus, 3.5 grapple vs. Pathfinder CMB, just some numbers for comparison purposes would be very illuminating.

Looks like Freyar beat me to the punch. But I would like to take this opportunity to say that I found the Bonus Bestiary to be a great freebee: the artwork is great, the fluff is terrific, and I love the one monster per page format.

I'm not Rhun, but I scored a Bonus Bestiary yesterday and am feeling generous. ;) A lot of the critters are actually from the ToH and not SRD (about 50-50), so I'll go through the SRD ones in separate posts below and add ToH later if people want.

Thanks for doing that Freyar! Nice work.

Nixie

No problem, folks! I do agree with Hunter in Darkness --- no problem using these with 3.0 or 3.5 on the fly, and they seem to be a little better targeted at their CR. On to the next one, a little more briefly.

Nixie (not a sprite in PBB)
hp: SRD 1d6 PBB 2d6+2 and associated HD increases
Con: SRD 11 PBB 13
SR: SRD 16 PBB 12
SRD grapple -6 PBB CMB -2 CMD 11
SLAs: SRD listed as unique abilities, different CLs PBB listed as normal SLAs, both CL 12
Skills: rearranged (no listing of racial bonus in PBB, but it seems to get one for Swim due to aquatic subtype)
Feats: SRD Alertness, Dodge, Weapon Finesse PBB Weapon Finesse
Treasure: SRD no coins, 1/2 goods (metal or stone only), 1/2 items (no scrolls) PBB 200 gp (pearls and shells)

So there is an aquatic subtype. The PBB also has a variant CR 2 "sinister nixie" with Lure (harpy captivating song) and Shapeshift (as if using "beast shape I") which I'm guessing is a new version of the 3.5 special ability Change Shape or Alternate Form.

Shadow Mastiff

Last one. Let me just comment that the other ones are nice, too, and I'm willing to comment if there's demand.

Shadow Mastiff
hp: SRD 4d8+12 PBB 6d10+18 (and other HD increases)
abilities: SRD Str 17 Dex 13 PBB Str 19 Dex 15
AC: SRD 14 (+1 Dex, +3 natural) PBB 17 (+2 Dex, +5 natural)
Skills: rearranged (unsure if there's still a Survival bonus for tracking by scent)
Feats: SRD Dodge, Improved Initiative, Track PBB Improved Initiative, Iron Will, Power Attack
Bay: SRD immune for 24 hours whether save succeeds or not PBB only immune on successful save
Shadow Blend: PBB version can suspend or reactivate as free action
SRD grapple +7 PBB CMB +10 CMD 22
PBB version has rules for summoning
PBB version is slightly larger (4ft tall, 300 lb) vs SRD (2 ft tall, 200 lb)

I also notice that the "frequency" qualifier on alignment seems to be gone. So the Lammasu goes from "always LG" to "LG" (and similarly for others).
And educated guess here...

Everything in PF can be of various alignments.

The dragon book specificially talks about fallen and redeemed (may be mis-remembering exact terms) dragons. I wouldn't be at all suprised if this is extended to everything else (though much less formally than the dragon case).
