8-sided d4? (Or: "My Google Fu is weak") ...

They look just like d8's :) Ok ok, not helpful.

I prefer the caltrops, they are easy to find when you don't have any shoes on.

Actually, this is one of my concerns. If you think about it, it's really not a selling point if they look just like d8s. I'm hoping to find an 8-sided d4 that is quickly and easily distinguishable -- at a glance -- from a normal d8.

Obviously, I could just pick a different color, but I tend to like plain, unadorned dice, which all naturally tend to look alike.

Maybe a dual-color, or some subtle shading, or something.

Well, if worst comes to worst, I can find some at their GenCon booth and take a picture for you. That's four whole weeks away, though... not that I'm counting the days.

Hm. dicepool.com lists a 12-sided, pipped d4 (black pips on white) among its "pipped polyhedrals" here, but it's out of stock at the moment.

I've switched from the traditional d4s to 12-sided d4s. Chessex makes some printed in Roman numerals, which makes them easy to distinguish from regular d12s.

4-Sided Dice (d4)

Less than 4 weeks for those showing up on Wednesday night. Not that I'm counting either or anything...

27 days, 9 hours, 26 minutes until I can lay my hands on the PFRPG.

Man, I don't know, then - if you're looking for plain, unadorned dice that, as you say, tend to look alike, then obviously they won't also be quickly and easily distinguishable from other dice of the same shape. Maybe color it with a marker to make it stand out.
