GenCon Core Book Sold Out?

One of the videos of GenCon has a chat with Jason Buhlman, where he mentions that there isn't actually a table under the books. It is just more boxes of books with a cloth over it.

I didn't pick one up (I am a pdf person), but I had multiple chances to with next to no line. When I left on Sunday, they still had copies sitting around.

I don't think they sold out, but they definitely sold a ton of them.

Yes, I left about 4pm on Sunday and they still had books available. The only obscene line I saw was Thursday. Every other time I saw their booth, it was busy but you could easily get to a book and purchase it.

I can't speak to how many books were left at the end of GenCon as I wasn't there. What I can say is that a couple of stores in my area got a bunch of books on Thursday and sold out the same day. One of the stores got a restock of four books on Friday and I was able to purchase two of them. As far as I can tell here locally, the books are flying of the shelves and most of my local stores are out of stock already.

That is what I am thinking, if they counted right and had a good ideal of the number of sales they should have extra. One thing you do not want it to not have enough of a much wanted item
Yeah, it's one thing to be surprised by unexpected demand, but Paizo's had two very clear warnings in the last few weeks of what to expect. First, distributor sales were higher than anticipated so they had to order a second print run early. Second, their shipping department had been slammed for the week and a half prior to GenCon. I expected Paizo to react to the demand.

Didn't somebody say Paizo brought 3000 books to GenCon?

I expected it because a lot of fans seemed to expect it. There was a prediction thread with some people guessing it would sell out before lunch, or on the first day. And I saw this same question posed independently on other boards by other people. I think the line on Thrusday being SOOOOOO long, and then almost no line on Sunday but with books still available, speaks at least somewhat to a lot of folks thinking the supply was limited and they need to get it early.

It's not a negative, I am just surprised, that's all.

Define "a lot of fans" and provide some links, please, so that people don't get the impression you're just stirring the pot.
