A Problem of Nobility or Things that go Bump in the Night (Covaithe Judging)

[sblock=ooc]I'd like to continue with the sequel (Raiyek thinks another crime lord has used them, and is really, really angry about that ;)).

Raiyek has +9 Heal, and of course he'll help nurse us all back to health. I was thinking, unless the sequel is time-sensitive, we could just sit in the tavern resting and rolling Heal checks until we're all healthy ;)

A first round of Heal checks to help us get healthy (I forget if Xoc has the fever or not):
Georg: 1d20+9=25
Kruk: 1d20+9=27
Raiyek: 1d20+9=21
Xoc: 1d20+9=21

Those rolls won't kick in until the end of our next extended rest, but I think they're good enough to help :)[/sblock]

The adventure won't be time sensitive (at least until it starts) so rest up, lick your wounds (hopefully after cleaning the sewage off) and once the addie is approved we can continue to hunt down that rat bastard who used you... :)

Before Georg's ritual ...

Raiyek stays for a moment after the rest of his companions have left to make sure the gnome is alright. Then, half in a daze, he leaves the tea shop but goes in the opposite direction of the tavern.

Wandering aimlessly for a while, he finally stops in an abandoned alleyway filled with discarded and broken barrels and crates and other refuse. He hangs his head for a moment, gritting his teeth. Then his head snaps up and he glares into the sky. "Why, Palladys? Why do I always find myself with mortal patrons so ... so depraved?! First them, then the Imperium, then Marley and now this Mr. X!" His fist clenches, and then flashes to the sword on his hip, whipping it out, he holds it high. "I vow, here and now, that no one will use Raiyek Meliam again! No one! Palladys, by your Holy Aegis, may you give me the strength to never be used by anyone for any purpose dishonorable in your eyes!" Finally letting his bottled rage out, the elf lashes out at a barrel beside him, nearly splitting it in half. "Rrrrraaaaahh!" With a yell he continues to vent on the other discarded containers, hacking and slashing and yelling until all that's left are splinters.

After his rage is finally spent the paladin stops. Panting for breath, he leans against the wall of the alley and slumps down to sit on the ground, his sword still barely held in his hand. "Never .... Never again," he whispers. "You have given me strength ... I won't be used by any save you, my beautiful Grey Eyed Lady." Spent, he dozes in and out of consciousness, not knowing for how long.

When he finally wakes, he doesn't feel well. Not at all. Checking over himself with a healer's eye, he discovers a fever. With a sigh, he whispers to himself, "I've stayed out too long ... and I might have picked something up from those sewers. I should head back and meet the others." Managing to stand, he sheathes his sword and then starts walking shakily in the direction he thinks the Hanged Man lies. The elf's eyes burn like fire, and for a moment they flash with golden radiance. "Mr. X needs a payback visit."

Back in the tavern with the others ...

Discovering that most of his companions share his symptoms, Raiyek starts tending to them all, using every bit of healer's knowledge he has to combat the fevers. Once Georg has finished with his magic, Raiyek eagerly waits to hear what knowledge the note and journal hold for them.
[sblock=ooc]No need to worry, everyone, Raiyek just needed to flip out a bit at the recurring theme that seems to keep coming back to haunt him ;)

Are we going to keep using the same thread, or start a new one? And I'm assuming you don't mind if we go out and buy some things with our new piles of gold in the meantime? :) (If you check my sheet, I managed to squeeze out juuust enough gold to get myself another new sword, this one with some magic ;))[/sblock]

So you are going to do a sequel soon Renau1g? I thought we were done here. Sorry for bolting so soon. Three of us, carolina, grim and myself, went to look for more work. Are you going to post the sequel to this adventure soon or is there time to squeeze in an another adventure from someone else before you'd start the sequel?

Yeah, I was hoping to hit a quick adventure (TwoHeadsBarking is running a goblin-smacking trip that he claims is short) if there's going to be a gap between this and the "Mr. X" sequel, but if I have to choose then I'm totally sticking here. How far out would you estimate another adventure is? [/sblock]
