Aces and 8's is pretty darn slick!

I am starting up a new A&8's campaign next week. The players' have already created PCs and sent me their back stories. The first session will open with them on the trail somewhere just south of Lazarus.

More details to come...

Has anyone seen any miniature-scale maps of riverboats? You know, those old paddlewheelers? I was thinking of setting my one-shot on one of those, but I'm not sure I want to tackle the task of drawing one up in DundJinni while I'm trying to move houses. Me likes some purty maps.

Looking forward to them! :)

Same here. A&8 is a lot of fun actually. And I agree with what theemrys said above: The players really shaped the game. Prep time is pretty much a snap when ya let the PCs wander around and do whatever the hell they want (which, in my game, seems to always lead to at least one gunfight :) )

No kidding! Everyone seems to go looking for a gun fight or a fist fight, despite how deadly they can be!

I now have me a nice aluminum case full of 500 poker chips for brawling! I'll probably need another one or two with everyone getting about 20 chips each of each color!

Well, brawls and gunfights are two staples of Westerns -- especially the Westerns folks I know like.

Same here. Tho my players (all D&Ders since 1e) learned that combat in general is a helluva lot deadlier in A&8 than it is in D&D...especially after one PC had both barrels of a shotgun emptied into his chest. Wasn't pretty...

Yeah, that pretty much means a new tunnel was created where you never want one to be, fortunately my PC's only dealt those out, never received one.
