A bit late since I just signed up here today. I've recentely moved away from my old group to go to university, and I've been missing D&D. I'd be interested in playing if you still have any spots open?

I'm interested in starting in the north, because a dead God Empress intrigues me. Also, that sounds like an excuse for a little Empire rebuilding.
Also, I forgot to ask, what's your opinion on hybrid classes?

The areas of the North and East are the most interesting to me. Dead God Empresses and the tumbling of Goddess built walls are greatly intriguing.
As far as character and motivation, I had a few things in mind. Depending on what others would want to play, I'd be willing to play as a Defender or Controller.
As a defender, I'd go with either a Goliath (Fighter or Warden) who was a guardian of his tribe, but after failing to protect a group of young shamans on a vision quest from a band of Horseaters, he has left his tribe to find a new purpose in the world. He sees himself as a failure and hates seeing ANYONE close to him hurt.
As a controller, I'd go with a Deva Invoker who recently "popped" near wherever we end up starting. Remembering bits and pieces of my past lives, I recall being devoted to Erathis, and she has sent me to this place at this time to stop the rapid disintegration of civilization, and as such, has lent me her power.

I am saving a space for ppaladin123 - I contacted him before I opened this thread originally, and he's interested in playing. A paladin (shocking). He can't play until after October 20th, which is fine.
My target date for the first session is Saturday, October 24th. That's the day I'd like to do the first session - before then, I'd prefer meeting with everyone, setting them up with Maptools/Ventrillo, whatnot.
Soon, I'm going to have a web forum up. When I post the link here, I'd like folks to post their characters and their backgrounds there, along with contributing and such. I'll have some integration exercises there.
On said site, there will be updated/more flesh on the various places where things are falling apart.
Finally, for those with DDi, don't forget to take a look at The Seeker tomorrow. I have no idea what it is, but it might be interesting for some of you.

i forgot about that. the "seeker" sounds vague enough to be very cool lol
I think it's got bugs that need to be worked out, and thus is a little limited. For instance I think it's dumb that the Fighter only marks with fighter powers, the rogue can't SA with a basic attack, the Swordmage/Paladin are watered down to the point of not very usable.
But, if you really want that Hybrid class so you feel like a real multi-classed character, OK.
No, I would constitute that as a racial feat.

Dragonborn paladin (cha-based)/questing knight. I'm intrigued by the description of dragonborn eggs bursting in a shower of blood and bone upon hatching. It sounds like this spells the doom of the dragonborn race. I'd thus be hunting for the source of the corruption to save my people. I'm not sure where the dragonborn live in your world but my character would be wandering the land searching for clues anyway so it should be pretty easy to have him link up with the party.
Are we starting at level 1?
