Nah, there's room to go in somewhat different directions. Craig's Bond isn't Brosnan's isn't Connery's, but they're all Bond. Superman, Batman, Captain Kirk, Sherlock Holmes... All of them have been done with different interpretations that stayed true to the core of the character.

I'm pretty sure, then, that BA can be managed.

I wasn't a fan of the original and this doesn't do anything to make it me think it will be any the better. Okay, a few more explosions and possibly some extra blood, but ... **shudder**

In this respect the A-Team are way cooler than real life.

My understanding is that, if you considered the above to be of primary importance, you might not like the movie so much...

By which I mean, not that the movie is supposed to be horribly gory or anything, but just that the guns and explosions in the movie actually kill people (or so I've read), as opposed to only taking out tires and engines.

The lack of blood was one of the main reasons I didn't care for the TV series. And my lack of care for the TV series is the reason I'm not interested in the movie.

Not that I wanted/needed blood and gore, but just that it broke my suspension of disbelief to see all those bullets and explosions have no real effect.

My favorite was always when a helicopter ran into a cliff exploded hit the ground on fire and all the bad guys walk out of the burning wreck.

It's fine you not enjoying the concept - some of us do, some of us don't. I find it highly enjoyably personally.

"Suspension of disbelief" is not something to be associated with the A-Team; you're not supposed to believe it, merely to be entertained by it. It's it's own genre - you either like it or you don't. Criticising it for being it's own genre is no criticisim: the best you can say is that the genre, as a movie/TV trope, is not your thing.

It's great for thos eof us who buy into the concept. I'm sure it's ludicrous to those who don't. No biggie.
