DDI Group Penetration

For those of you running regular 4E games (weekly-ish for months on end), how many people in the group have DDI subscriptions?
2

How many of those people spend time behind the DM screen for the group?
0

How many are players only?
2 (although one dms another game that we don't play in)

How many also keep up with the books in addition to the DDI?
0

How many are books-only gamers?
4

How many are DDI-only gamers?
1

How many keep up their subscription constantly?
2

How many spot-subscribe (periodically just for updates)?
0

How many subscribed but no longer do, preferring to either use someone else's subscription or simply what they have from their previous downloads?
0

Anecdotally, one of the players cited above is a quintessential power gamer, the other one is a hardcore roleplayer with years of backstory to her characters.

the OP should start graphing this data and have it on the first post... but for my part;

How many people in the group have DDI subscriptions?
1 (out of 6)

How many of those people spend time behind the DM screen for the group?
1

How many are players only?
5

How many also keep up with the books in addition to the DDI?
1 (me, the dm)

How many are books-only gamers?
0

How many are DDI-only gamers?
0

How many keep up their subscription constantly?
1

How many spot-subscribe (periodically just for updates)?
0 (though this was my original intention when I first signed up)

How many subscribed but no longer do, preferring to either use someone else's subscription or simply what they have from their previous downloads?
0

I'm surprised that so many groups have multiple subscribers; our group has one laptop that we all level up our guys on and then I print them out and bring them in next session... I don't consider my players to be "leeching".

Best to allow the data to accumulate for a while yet before putting totals or analysis front and center lest it influence respondents. But I agree that it should be collected at some point. I hope we get enough respondents to make it semi-meaningful. According to some sources there are 25K or more DDI users so a fair number must be on EN World. Someone coudl submit a News Scoop with a link if they wish to bolster the quantity of data. Keep it coming! :)

Hmmm...

I play in 2 campaigns and DM my own. Of those three games, there are (counting the 3 DM's) 10 people.

Of those 10 people...

...2 Have DDI Accounts (2 of the 3 DM's, myself included)

...3 DM games

...7 Are Players Only

...3 Keep up with Books (us 3 DM's)

...None are "Books Only"

...7 Are "DDI Only" (the 7 non DM's, who share our DDI access)

...2 of us who have DDI keep it up always

...No "spot" subscribers

...1 Did subscribe but canceled and uses ours

I am running one campaign, and playing in two, with some players in multiple of the games. There are 10 people total between the groups. I am not absolutely certain about everyone's DDI usage, but here are my best guesses:

4

How many of those people spend time behind the DM screen for the group?
3

How many are players only?
7

How many also keep up with the books in addition to the DDI?
2, although not every book

How many are books-only gamers?
6

How many are DDI-only gamers?
1, although he does pick up a few of the books

How many keep up their subscription constantly?
3 or 4

How many spot-subscribe (periodically just for updates)?
0 or 1

How many subscribed but no longer do, preferring to either use someone else's subscription or simply what they have from their previous downloads?

We need more than this amount of data for the findings to be significant. It could be that there aren't as many folks who are active on EN World that actually use the DDI, I suppose. If you know of others on EN World or see some discussion in other threads, give them a link (post it in other threads) to this thread so they can be notified of this effort and the data can be collected.

...maybe letting people know what you're getting at would help?

What hypothesis are you testing?

It is a thread for collecting data. I have no hypothesis and would appreciate it if you would either add data or leave any theorizing in other threads where it will not influence the data being collected here. I would prefer this thread not be derailed by such posting. Thank you in advance.
