Monster Question

First Post
OK In this campaign im playing a warlock lvl 13 or somewhere around that, anyway i got this invocation that lets my polymorph into a hellcat for 6 rounds and i had a few questions. Heres a link of a part from the monster manual SRD:Hellcat - Dungeons and Dragons Wiki. The first question is about the hit die. The hit die is 8d8+24 but i dont understand where their getting that from. And when if ever could i use those dice for an attack because there a lot better than its attacks. My second question was about the pounce attack. It does the same as the feat, but is it a literal pounce that makes an enemy go prone or is that just a name? My last question was about the Invisible in Light thing. Invisible in Light (Ex): A hellcat is invisible in any area lit well enough for a human to see. In a darkened area, it shows up as a faintly glowing outline visible up to 30 feet away (60 feet if the viewer has low-light vision). Magical darkness smothers the glow and conceals the outline. It seems like if in a darkened area, it shows up as a faintly glowing outline visible up to 30 feet away (60 feet if the viewer has low-light vision) that would contradict the sentence after that saying that magical darkness smothers the glow and conceals the outline. Shouldn't the glow and outline only be visible in darkness to people with the ability to see normally in magical darkness? Thanks for the help in advanced!

The 8d8 comes from 8 racial hit dice, each of which is a d8. the +24 is probably due to the hellcat's +3 Con modifier, since 3*8=24.

And when if ever could i use those dice for an attack because there a lot better than its attacks.
What?

It means you get a full attack at the end of your charge.

Magical darkness is an exception because the darkness is magical.
