Dandu- that had me laughing. I actually did something like that. It was a little more complicated but still really simple, but they just could not get it. And we spent like 4 sessions just on that. It was funny but it got boring after the 2nd session. They just thought what I had set up had to be more and it wasnt really anything.
 

There is a lever. It is in the middle of a room. The lever does nothing.

See how long it takes your players to figure it out. Keep a tally of how much time and resources they put in to finding out what the lever does.

I remember 1st edition dungeons, many levers.....:lol:
