What do you do with the bodies of your fallen enemies?

My half-orc barbarian made a cloak out of the polar bear that beat the snot out of him and the rest of the party and left them for dead a few levels prior. The DM decided to make it a magical cloak, because I was particularly mad at the bear and we were running rather low on the treasure to level ratio...

Otherwise, the proper way to treat the body of a fallen foe is to tie it to the back of your chariot and drag it around the enemy encampment a few times.

Sucks to be Hector.

my characters seemed to tend towards burial or respectful cremation(as in not just piling them up on a bonfire) whenever possible for sapient beings.

Does this take a long time? What if you are in an adventure with serious time constraints? Is there any way to bury the dead quickly with rituals or other in 4th edition? I suppose you could say a force spell or something might be able to dig a grave or unseen servant if they still exist though that may not be any quicker.:)

Do your characters take the time to bury the fallen or otherwise see to their final rites, whether in accordance with their traditions or yours? Do they just leave the fallen to scavengers and the elements? Do they replenish their food supplies?

My high level evil wizard shapechanges into an aboleth, then consumes them for their memories.

My lower level characters would animate them, either as a guard or to dig their own grave.

My last wizard was good, and all the enemies we killed were evil.

After we killed our intelligent enemies, I summoned a monster to consume their bodies.

I did not want to risk them being found and raised.

We let them rot - I mean fertilize the soil. Unless we take trophies. One of my guys takes a hand from importantg bad guys to hang from his belt.
