D&D 4E Weem's 4e Companion Sheet (v2)

weem

First Post
Well, after some feedback from various people/forums, I have returned with the latest version of my Companion Character Sheet.

Some notes again on what I was going for...

1) I wanted the sheet to cover what the rules cover - not much more
2) I wanted the sheet to aid in the creation process of a companion. As such, there are (for example) 5 power slots (max per rules), each labeled with the type of power, and level requirements (as per the DMG2 rules) - plus notes such as "Magic items not required by companion characters" under the equipment line.
3) I wanted to get 2 on a sheet - not one sheet for one companion. This can be folded in half and flipped, or it could be cut into two pieces etc - nice and handy. In fact, if you cut them into two separate sheets, they each could be folded again between the left and right blocks of information as well.

Please let me know what you think!

Here is the NEW screenshot (link to download follows it)...

Just a quick update.

I have used these for my upcoming game in 2 days, and I've found them very helpful (I made them, so that's not saying much - just commenting).

Also, my friend (and DM) used one in his last game and he really liked it. In fact, he just needed one so in the print preview, he zoomed in to one listing (essentially making it twice as big, so that one listing took up the entire sheet) and it printed really well. It's vector based, so I assumed it would be fine but I wanted to mention you could just print 1 that way and they come out great!

Anyone else here had a chance to print/use em yet?

I have a friend entering our game who is interested in being a halfling or gnome on a riding dog. I think I may use this to help nerf a mount like the dire wolf or the draft lizard. I'll tell you how it goes!

They look really nice, and seem to contain a concise summary of the info in an easy-to-find format. I'd give you xp, but I've apparently given you some too recently so it won't let me.

I don't anticipate using companion characters in my main game, since we have 6 players already. OTOH I'm thinking of doing a game with my family where we'd have 3-4 characters, and a companion character might be perfect to round things out. If I go that route, I will give these sheets a try. Thanks for making them!

Cool!

The DMG2 also has rules for Companion "Creatures" so you might consider that as well (of course, they are more like monsters so my sheets wouldn't work so well there).

Well thanks, I appreciate it ;)

Very cool! Yea, I have seen this discussed as well, the idea of introducing new players to the game via companion characters as they are less overwhelming. Let me know how that goes!

A bit late... but yes! :)

I like it, it's pretty handy... but a couple of possible improvements:
  1. Needs a place for basic attacks (since they can differ from the at-wills; perhaps remove the personality/notes bits, move the section underneath it up to free up a spot for BAs?)
  2. Not essential, but... DIN A4 version? Pretty please?

Cheers, LT.
