Religious Holidays

I don't know of any 4e sources of this sort of information.

Dragon magazine, back in the Paizo days had, had a Core Beliefs articles, which had information on holidays. Of course, that was during 3.x, but that information isn't edition-specific either.

I can't seem to find any information on the core pantheon's religious holidays, Does anyone know where I should be looking, if at all?
There aren't any because there's not really a core setting and thus not even a core calendar.

Until WotC releases a campaign setting book (or maybe the Nentir Vale Gazetter scheduled for 2011), it's unlikely you'll see that kind of information.

Cool, thanks man. At least it's a starting point.

Yeah, I know there isn't a core setting but there are a set of core gods detailed in the books.

Yeah, but how can you define holy days if there is no calendar?!

All you can do if there is no defined setting is to give general indications, like:
'Corellon's holy day is usually celebrated in early spring'. And even that might be too limiting. There are places without recognizable seasons, after all.

So, I'm not sure that's overly useful. Just make up your own holy days!

Your holy days are conveniently placed whenever you want them to, according to the needs of your adventure. If there's not some adventure focused around some holy festival, who gives a damn?

Okay, perhaps there is a miss-communication. I'm not asking WHEN the holidays take place but WHAT they are. Do people ritually fight each other on Kord's holiday? Or do they bake Kord Kokkies and dance around a big pole?

Sorry for the confusion. I'm not even sure there is anything like that out there and judging by the response, I guess I'll have to stop being lazy and make it up haha.

Ah, all right. Now that's really something entirely different.

I've just started reading 'Plane Above' and apparently Kord's followers are fond of roughing up (githyanki) pirates, (devil) slavers and stuff. If nothing of the kind happens to be around any kind of wrongdoers will do in a pinch... Now, the information in this book applies to Kord's followers in the astral sea, but I suppose it isn't that different from what his followers are doing on the material plane.

Since 'Plane Above' details all of the domains of the core pantheon's deities, it may have some of the details you're looking for.

Just tripped over this ancient thread and immediately thought of the Olympics. I can see Kord have all manner of athletic competitions, especially wrestling and boxing, but really any sport. Just look at the actual myths about Herakles and his connection to the Ancient Greek Olympics...
