What articles do YOU want written for Dragon and Dungeon?

Historical articles for sure. There are some great ones in the old archives that could be updated to 4e... Red Steel (Russian?), Crusader Earth and all that... and castle/fief management rules would be rad to. They should be in a book though.

We want it in the DDI so everything loads up into the CB and Compendium. Because that's one of the great joys of 4e.

WEll, I am pretty ambivilant about anything behind the DDI firewall, but what I would liek to see is...

Ways to exand the combat-scentric ruels of 4E out more into social/sociatal etc areas

Ways to use monsters in less combat centric ways, have them part of the background of the world, in non kill-and-take-stuff ways.

Ways to bring back good features of previous editions and incorporate them into D&D

Outlandish house rules that can shake up the way 4E plays.

Those would be good, I think. Lotta creative people both in WOTC and submitting articles to them .

Bare in mind I'm starting this thread so that freelancers (read: people on ENWorld who want to write an article) will have a pool of ideas/an idea of what folks want.

With that in mind, Chris Youngs put up a blog comment at the beginning of April about what sort of submissions he does and doesn't want to see:

Okay, in an effort to throw you would-be freelancers a bone, here's a short list of stuff I'm looking for at the moment:

More assassin stuff. Class Acts? Sure. Something else? Maybe.

More Chaos Scar pitches. Keep in mind, I'm looking for something in the three encounter range. So keep 'em short. If you want to really wow me, try to tie one to a hook from the Keep on the Scar. That would rock. Also, mid to high heroic tier. We're gonna amp up the levels here and try to have at least one heroic tier option at each of the first ten levels by the end of summer.

More Campaign Workbooks. Single villains, single cool encounters, single dungeon rooms.

Psionics support. PH3 is out there now. Go get it and send me a pitch.

Things I'm not looking for:

New builds. I want support for existing builds first and foremost.

New races or classes.

Updates from previous editions.

New builds. Did I mention this one already?

Adventures that feature new monsters. We've got a lot of monsters out there just waiting for their turn in the spotlight. Let's give 'em a chance to shine.

I'm finding new authors all the time. So keep sending us your ideas!

From the sound of it, he doesn't seem interested in new builds.

The anti-new builds stuff is entirely unsurprising, even though I couldn't help myself and did submit a new build (made extra sure to have it also work as support for current builds, to avoid just being silliness, but if I were to get a reply from that one I would be seriously shocked.)

Stuff I'd like to see in Dragon: Anything I've submitted :p

More support for the pseudo-multiclasses, including paragon paths and the like.

More monk support.

Lots more runepriest support, especially class feats, not all of which need to be rune feats.

A paragon path that provides some of the benefits of paragon multiclassing, but not all, in a more cohesive package and with less cost in terms of feats.

Nun-chuks.

Something to make Shuriken more interesting.
Similar for rapiers.

Some more small weapons.

I'll echo sorcerer and barbarian paragon paths. They need a few more. The selection right now feels pretty limited if you don't want to go out of class, or go with a racial PP.

Seekers need an article. I've been trying to build a seeker that will work to my satisfaction, and I'm failing. They can't even kill minions with any reliability. They need some new at-will powers. And all their daily powers seem like "it might work, it might not" with the seeker having zero control over the triggers. I find this to be the worst designed class that needs some serious tweaking and support to make it more playable. I think an article that introduces 2 new at-wills and 1-2 dailies that the seeker has more control over at each level would go a long way. They can also use some feat love. Current heroic class feats are pretty uninspiring.

I think that's good advice regardless and all that is still applicable, but it is worth noting that Chris Youngs is now out from Dragon and Dungeon, and Steve Winter is in as the EIC. It sounds like Mr. Winter is going to be running things a bit differently too.

I'd love to see a Winning Races(or whatever) article about Kenku!

Also, more articles with a broad net of race feats, like a few lately- with options for lots of different races, as opposed to articles like a recent one... Revenant Assassins! But nothing else for Revenants, or other race Assassins...

For Forgotten Realms(and LFR use!): Tying domains to the lesser gods and demigods/exarchs. My cleric of Lebelas Enoreth thanks you in advance. ;)

melee warlock.

As a helllock, I always feel funny with all these hit points and temp hp, and basically no way to spend them. So I swap Eldritch Blast for Strike, and wade into melee.

With one power, over 30 levels.

I want some melee warlock support. I'm just afraid it will be seen as a "new build"
