Define what you mean by "potions".

If you are referring to potions in the DMG (like potions of cure light wounds, etc.) - you cannot make them with the craft (alchemy) skill. They require the brew potions feat.

Items that can be made via Craft (Alchemy) are listed in the PHB pg 128.

pg 71 lists the appropriate Craft (Alchemy) DC for the items in the equipment section.

I'm looking to run a game where you use alchemy to create potions that aren't just spells in a bottle.

Thanks for the heads up, but anyone know any other resources?

Pathfinder kind of does this; they require skill checks for the creation of all magic items, and it so happens that they were kind enough to let people make potions using Spellcraft or Alchemy. Granted, the DCs are kinda low...

Their general item creation rules so you know what you're looking at for the second link: Pathfinder_OGC: Magic Items

Their rules for potions specifically: Pathfinder_OGC: Magic Items

As for the 'not just spells in a bottle'... not sure where you'd find that. True Sorcery's item creation rules kind of do that, but only inasmuch as the spell effects are from spells you make up when you make the potion (and they have you using Spellcraft rather than Alchemy, but that's easily enough remedied). Alternatively, if looking for just more standard-style alchemical items, Arms and Equipment Guide had a bunch, and Tome and Blood had a few good ones (healing salve, for example). You might also try Against the Shadow (the book, not the fansite)'s herbalism system.
