[Tavern] Tower's Shard 2010

A sturdily built man walks into the bar, wearing a bag and leaning on a spear like they're all he owns in the world. He pauses, sweeping the room with his eyes, then heads to the bar.
As he passes, the patrons can feel as much as see his weariness, and when he sits at the bar his relieved smile is obvious in his posture. He puts down his bag heavily, and leans the spear against the bar next to him.

He waits patiently until he is attended by the barkeep, then orders quietly.

[sblock=descriptive]Serris is dressed for travel in worn riding clothes, but the spear holds countless battles in its past. The metallic crunch of chain when his bag hit the ground betrayed further sign he wasn't a simple traveler. There is a mild pressure of ill-contained psychic energy around him.[/sblock]

As Jarren heads off to the table, Pis smiles and waves him on, “Excellent, excellent.”

Hearing the call from Susan, Pis waves an acknowledgement. After getting a response one way or the other from Mythra, Pis leaves him and heads over to the woman sitting with the bow on her back. He wonders at her strange choice in seating arrangements for a moment.

After shaking himself out of the daze he smiles and says with a boisterous tone, “Greetings to you Ryda. I am Pis Memish. Your companions are joining mine a bit closer to the fire and we were hoping you would join us there. Good times will be had by all. I guarantee it.”

[sblock=OOC]Pronunciation: the “i”s in Pis’ name are long “e”s like sleet or freed. Alright, I gotta ask. How do you sit with a bow on your back? I may just be picturing the whole thing incorrectly.[/sblock]

Ryda looks up as Pis approaches her, eyes like cold stones examining him. Pis? "Your parents must not have liked you to name you after that disgusting vegetable. Do you have a brother carrot? And how will you guarantee good times? Will you play the part of a jester for all to laugh at?” She smiles a toothy smile, “Yes, perhaps I will join you, to see the folly you will make.”

She rights the mugs she had been using, and slides off her chair with ease, motioning for Pis to lead the way.

[sblock=OOC]Ryda's in a grumpy mood right now, sorry to take it out on you. Regarding the bow and sitting. It’s strung across her back from one hip to the opposite shoulder, so the only thing it does is prevent her from leaning back, otherwise, it’s angle and natural curve allow sitting.[/sblock]

Rohna nods to the newcomers as the table fills up quickly. She notices the warden's move toward her weapon and leans over, "I know exactly how you feel. I have a funny sotry about a group of warforged we ran into just recently, I'll have to tell you about it sometime." She looks over at the healer that just sat down. "Don't worry, you'll be really busy with this crew." She shoves a thumb at the rest of the crew. "They love running around their protector and getting themselves cut to ribbons. Wait and see." She grins at the others and pats Mitra on the head.

"I will be glad to hear that tale surely." Thalen says, "Don't worry about protecting me though, I am more than capable of defending myself" she adds with a slight air of indignation, as one might expect out of the Lyrandar nobility.

Pis’ smile doesn’t falter. “For you, dear woman, I will do back flips. When are good times not had by friends sharing good food, good spirits and good tales?”

He turns to the table where Talkrai, Susan, and the others are sitting and takes two strides before rounding on Ryda again with a very serious look on his face. He leans in close and says in a hushed tone, deathly serious, “My brother’s name is Asparagus. He is more than a bit touchy about the matter. We shall not speak of it again.” He heads back to the table, leading the charming half-orc.

With a raised voice and a smile again on his lips he calls to the table, “My charm has won her over, Ryda is joining us.” To Susan he says playfully, “She is quite the ray of sunshine.” He pulls out a chair for Ryda and gestures for her to sit.

[sblock=ooc]No worries. Not much phases Pis. Everyone has bad days. He’ll just be determined now to cheer her up. I’m sure that will go swimmingly…

Ryda snickers as Pis declares the potency of his charm. “Or the desire to watch you try and do back flips in a crowded tavern. Well, get on with it then. Tell you what, don’t fall on your face and ruin that fancy hat of yours, and I may just tell you about about Susan here standing toe to toe with an owlbear for much longer than what is considered safe.” She replies, motioning to the warforged.

Leaning over near Talkrai, the half orc whispers for only her to hear, [sblock=whisper]“Your boyfriend sure is a peppie one, too bad he is so frail looking.”[/sblock]

 

[LadyLaw]

Talkrai nods hello to the newcomers and waits for Unit 16 to begin his tale of battle. She smiles at Ryda's wit. It would be interesting to see backflips, and if she had seen Susan fight Talkrai would like to hear things from her perspective as well.

However, she got a horrified look on her face at Ryda's whisper and shot the half-orc a very penetrating glare indeed.

[sblock=Telepathy to Ryda]"He is NOT my boyfriend. I only just met him, and to tell you the truth I find him a bit disturbing. Whatever made you think he was?!"

A range of emotion comes with this sending: from indignation, to unease and concern, to curiosity and more indignation.
